Hey Carolyn, if you had access to a PC version, would you prefer that to a console version? Even personally what would you choose?

@Morokoo @max-hit @kik4444 That's a joke. Gaming on the PC is the spearhead into innovation and new technology. ie. BF3

I'm surprised that so many people don't understand the difference of "authenticity" and "realism." ARMA, and other simulators, are realistic. Microsoft Flight Simulator is realistic because it attempts, very well, to mimic the circumstances of reality. Now, ARMA is both authentic and realistic because it is a simulator.

Realism refers to the gameplay while authenticity refers to the "non-gameplay" elements of the game. AKA, the scene or the atmosphere of the level. MoH is very authentic while MW is not. It's like Steven Spielberg vs. Michael Bay. Saving Private Ryan vs. Transformers. MW has a very Hollywood-esque feel to it, removing any realism or authenticity from it while MoH is very down to earth and "real."

Games like Call of Duty, Battlefield, or Medal of Honor aren't realistic because they aren't simulators. They have regenerating health, allow the player to carry massive amounts of ammunition, etc. But there is a difference between authenticity and realism. CoD4 was authentic, while MW2 or 3 were not. BF3 is arguably authentic, as well as MoH. This is because the little things, such as the way the gun sounds, the recoil it generates, the chatter on the radio, the formations of the soldiers, and other aspects of the scene were accurate in their representation of reality. AKA, the "non-gameplay" elements represented the actuality of real circumstances.

I'm sorry to see that McShea, and so many others, can't distinguish "realism" from "authenticity." For another example that may be easier to understand. I built a model airplane the other day; a complete replica of an actual F-15. It looks the exact same, therefore it is authentic, but it is maybe 1/50th of its actual size and will never fly, therefore it is not realistic.

Get it?

Also, McShea is an idiot. I lost respect for him as a journalist after hearing his inane argument against Greg, but completely lost respect for him as a person after his blatantly disrespectful comment about the "headshot counter at the bottom of the screen." Go away, Tom.

Tom is so unbelievably ignorant. GS needs some new journalists. He didn't even play MoH 2010, that's pathetic. He seems like a gamer who does "journalism" in his spare time when it should be the other way around. He has no idea what he's talking about.
