Here is a similar conversation between my son and I not that long ago.

Son: I want that (points to large truck).

Me: No. We came here to get something for Mom and then we're leaving.

Son: I want it!

Me: (Looks at son)

Son: (Shuts up and never mentions it again)

My son is at the point that all my wife and I have to do is look his direction and he knows he crossed a line that should not have been crossed.

It sounds like the Dad is being reasonable and I certainly do not want my son reading, watching, or listening to anything unless my wife or I research the product ourselves and know everything we can about it. Finally, when we say "no", this is not a debate.

If God dropped down RIGHT NOW and stood in front of you and asked you, "Why should I let you into Heaven?" What would you say?
