Cross country.

nothing at ALL can happen. i can imagine the people after the run:

"woah man did u see the way i was striding back there!"

"yeh, you been practicing?"

"yeh i have. and i saw the way you were able to lift your legs a lot when you ran, and maintain a steady and healthy pace."

"really, i didnt think anyone noticed. thanks."

and to watch is just painfull.

Cross Country races are all about guts and it takes a lot of hard work to be a good runner. And it's a very exciting sport to watch if you know who you're cheering for.

I guess. I don't see how it takes any more "guts" or hard work than any other sport does. In the end you're still watching a bunch of guys run around a circle, just like NASCAR

If you're comparing XC to NASCAR, then you should never speak about sprts ever again, espcially since you said XC is just running around a circle (which is track and field). And if you don't think that running a sub-4:30 mile (in high school) or a sub-4:05 mile (in college) takes guts, then I suggest you go for a job that's actually faster than 10 min/mi and longer than 2 miles. Running in the low-4s or breaking 4 minutes in the mile is one of the hardest things anyone can ever do, I don't care who you ar or what you say, it's the truth. And if you don't believe me, then try it for yourself.

Nevermind, I found it. It goes "Heroes are people who rise to the occasion and slip quietly away." by Tom Brokaw

Hey, I'm trying to find a quote about a hero. It goes something like "A hero is someone who rises to the task, and then silently slips back into the crowd" or something like that. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Any help would be greatly appreciated. And no, this is not for school.

Thanks!

Wow, Idk what races you're watching but the one's I go to are NOT boring at all. I guess it all depends on the course and teams competing. And I have never heard anyone ever say that at a meet. So I guess it's just you. And NASCAR is the worst, if it even counts. If not, then golf.

If you had done any research on the Swine Flu besides what the latest online journalist gets paid to say, you'd realize that you just wasted your time and that it's useless since anyone that isn't dying of aids, old and brittle or a young baby will actually die of it.

Then I'm wondering. Why is perfectly HEALTHY people such as teenagers have gotten it and died? Why take the RISK and not get the shot? Stop being so ignorant to the fact that it DOES kill people, and healthy people at that.

Ehhh, not really. He'd be better off geting the regular flu shot, unless the swine shot also does that too. Influenza kills 36k a year. Swine has killed how many? Exactly.

If him sayiong the F-Bomb that many times offended you or w/e, then you should get out more. Honestly, it's just a word. I've seen so many movies/been in so many situations where it's been used that it doesn't even phase me anymore. My teachers even use it, but rarely.

Get a full time job and go to class at night..... Maybe even go part-time for a while so it is cheaper.Mafiree
Since when do employers hand out full time jobs to kids just out of high school? Especially in this economy. Sounds like someone needs to think things through a little more. And kid, don't be so hard on yourself. You need confidence, believe in yourself. You can do it, it's just going to be a little harder than you expected. I say join the military, it'll get you some money and it looks GREAT on a resume.

It's Somalia. It's worse than the wild west and the ghettos in America. The worst gangs in the US wouldn't even dare to step foot in Somalia.

[QUOTE="cpo335"]Wait, I peel out all the time, but I'm actually a decent driver. And they only peel out when I take a corner too sharp. Like when I turn right at a stop sign and I go too fast, then they'll peel out. Is that bad? And I vote for women.Oleg_Huzwog

Yes, taking corners fast enough to lose traction is bad. That wasn't a serious question, was it?

Yeah, but I only do it to get a spot in traffic. It seems that if I don;'t, the people behind me get pissed and lay on their horn.
