Probably one of my most recent "cooler" moments in a game was the first time I climbed a view point and pressed Y in Assassins Creed! I really was in awe at how beautiful it was. The game definitely had its flaws but at the end of the day it was graphically brilliant!MsCortana
seconded, very nice graphics.

other highlights would include the saw blade on the gravity gun in half life 2 and scoring some superb goals in fifa 09. nothing beats seeing a gk stretching but not quite getting there.. :)

both are weak without multiplayer. halo 3 is fun but it can be finished in 8-10 hours. ut3 is a bunch of bot matches (which can be fun, if your into that thing). if you want some singleplayer shooters try cod 2, gears 2 (horde mode is a plus), r6v and its sequel (has a "terrorist hunt" mode akin to hode mode or nazi zombies), graw, bioshock, mass effect (its really a shooter/rpg hybrid but its more shooter than rpg), dead space, orange box (im guessing you have this one), and the darkness. take note that there are a lot of other good singleplayer shooters but a lot of them are too short (like halo 3). im listing games that will get you more bang for your buck.Xeros606
some excellent suggestions. thanks a lot to everyone who's contributed. i'll certainly be checking out those options. frag on!

hi, i've been searching for answers yet have found none. when reading reviews for both unreal tournament and halo 3, all people ever talk about are the online gaming experiences. as someone who doesn't intend on playing games online, my question is this:

can halo 3 and unreal tournament be played offline, in a single player mode and STILL be a fun fragfest??

not like team fortress 2 :(

thx for looking
