[QUOTE="lewuz"]I found it! It is actually: "Only the dead have seen the end of war" It's quote from one of George Santayana's works. Sometimes it is said that it was Plato's quote but there are no proof of it. General Douglas MacArthur also probably had wrong information.
Your right with the reputation they have built they could make a car where all you do is shoot at different walls for 6 missions and people would buy it.
Thats a good movie. I agree that if fighting in Iraq keeps our cicvilians safe then we should but I also believe that there should at least be some sort of kick back for the loss of life. I also agree that this new fangled concept of just sanctioning countries is stupid and a waste of time. I mean I doubt N. Korea is really that worried if we stop shipping and buying from them but a swift kick in the rear would get their attention. I'm old fashioned I guess and the way I look at things war is a part of life that can never be taken away no matter how much liberals think world peace is doable. Thats just my opinion.
Thats exactly what I mean, in the old days when war was a normal thing the whole point was for land, resources or conquest. Now days everybody is just a bunch of sissies. Why is the idea of the USA being the so called "bad guy" so bad? There was a time when that oil would be ours and we could care less what the world thought. If we are gonna fight a war, I want there to be results in my country not just having my cousin sent to fight for what? Democracy of a country 70% of Americans can't even find on a map? No a gain for the nation. Wars today are just a waste of money, Lets start gaining from them.
I agree that the war in Iraq is kind of a waste of time, We need to go back to wars having a purpose for the good of the nation. We should take the oil and any other resources we can, thats whatwar is meant for and once we do that we should leave and let them settle who is in charge themselves.
