westing house sucks... i know from experience they have **** colors. the samsung isnt all that great either if i was you id get a sony.

contrast ration isnt actually all that important if you know what to look for. high is NOT better you want a static contrast of atleast 1200 :1 and 1080p isnt all that great i know from experience get that next gen.

no seeing as it is not even close to the standard. and great looking games like gears and resistance are both 720p then no you do not unless you have a ton of money but if not buy a 1080p set in 10 years when it is getting there.

heres what cnet says about it

Quick Take: The Samsung LN-S95D series consists of two flat-panel LCD HDTVs: the 46-inch LN-S4695D and the 40-inch LN-S4095D. They both have a native resolution of 1,920x1,080, a.k.a. 1080p, which means they should be able to display every detail of 1080i and 1080p HDTV sources. We have not reviewed these sets yet, so we cannot comment on their performance, but we hope to review them soon. We have reviewed the somewhat similar Samsung LN-S4051D, but we cannot say that the LN-S95D series will offer similar performance.

In terms of features, every model in the LN-S95D series is virtually identical, with a jack-pack highlighted by two HDMI inputs, two component inputs, and a VGA-forbidden slot. This means you'll be able to receive over-the-air HDTV without an external set-top box but will need an external box for digital cable--no big deal in our book, since a cable box can provide benefits CableCard can't, such as a DVR.

althou that sounds great id just go with a sony iv experienced 3 samsung tvs in the past year and all of them had horrible black levels.
