My posting streak is coming to a crawl.. You can thank Unreal Tournament III

I went about a week where I really got back into posting on Gamespot, but now I haven't in a few days.. Because I recently bought Unreal Tournament III for four bucks (amazing savings at Gamestop's sale) and I've been playing it near non-stop ever since. I highly advise any PC or PS3 player to get it, as it's the funnest multiplayer shooter I've ever played. You may not have all the perks and leveling up from Modern Warfare, but you don't need it when it's all about pure, badass gameplay. I'd say nay to Xbox 360 players, because they can't download mods to their systems :( But PS3 can, which I think is one of the best signs of customer care I've ever seen. Hundreds of maps, character models, gameplay modes, and mutators are all available for free.

Final word- Get Unreal Tournament III, because you're not going to be seeing me on here very often. Haha.

And to anyone wanting to know, my PSN is Afro_Assassin

Empire Antzzz

I'm in the reviewing mood

I've written two game reviews in the past two days. I guess I just want to try my hand at getting some input into Gamespot, practice some journalism if I ever wanted to do that in my future. I'll probably be doing another review tomorrow, a game I've already beaten and can write one for. I'm also considering doing some movie reviews on my blog. Stay tuned!

A story of mine!

I realize I should wait until I'm more active with more people following me to post my writing, so more people could read it, but I just thought I would post this now since it was written about two years ago :P I've been editing it and all every once and a while, the most major change coming in about December of 2009 when I made several huge changes to the last half of the story. I like it, a lot of people on my Facebook do too,it probably needs a lot more editing to be "done", but I think it stands well right now where it is.

Because this was well over the word limit for Gamespot blogs, I decided to start a blog on blogspot.com where I'll post updates and my writing. I'll probably post here if I ever make any big new posts. Enjoy, and please comment on how you liked it, just follow the link ;)

Edit: And of course, mark spoilers in your comments if you're going to talk about them :P

The story/my blog

Criinok is back from the grave

Sup guys 8)

I've decided to return to Gamespot. There's a few reasons, but mainly it's because I've realized my dorkiness is engrained inside me, and in this dorkiness I need a community to communicate with. So I'd be honored to return back to the infamous forums of Gamespot ;)

I'm not sure if anyone will reply this, or remember who I am, but I really hope someone does. I had some pretty cool buds back in the day (a few months ago...) so reply this if you read it.

Otherwise, I guess I should give a quick update. Currently I'm listening to Black Joe Lewis, who is a fantastic blues artist, and The Mars Volta. I'm reading One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest which is proving to be amazing. I'm playing Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, which is on the way to becoming my favorite game of all time. I've played it for about 12 hours in the last 3 days, which is a HUGE amount of gameplay for me, seeing the other things I'm busy with. It combines my favorite rap era, the 90s, with a great story and setting so I'm hooked. I'm also getting into platformers, specifically the Megaman series and Prinny Can I Really Be The Hero, which has some awesome boss fights. I'm also playing Ogame, a sci-fi browser MMO which is quite amazing. It requires a lot of dedication, and you don't start to get into the real action for a month or so, but it's worth it. TV shows are kind of dead for me, though I really love Tosh.0. The Breaking Bad season finale a few weeks ago (I think?) was fantastic.

Otherwise, I've been working out a lot lately, still dating that girlfriend (10 months!) and I'm still loving life. Thanks for anyone who read this, be sure that I'll get active in the forums very soon :)

Sionara, Gamespot

I've been gone for months. A lot has been going on. I realize that I should probably just let Gamespot die, as I haven't been on the forums (hardcore) in forever. But I just wanted to tell everybody... Thanks.

Gamespot is one of the core reasons my life is now as wonderful as it is now. It is one of the core reasons I went from being a wanna-be priest, to a devout Atheist. And my becoming an Atheist has effected every moment of my life since, a gigantic domino effect that has led to now, where I have a fantastic girlfriend, plenty of friends at school, and have honestly never been happier in my life.

I guess I should explain a little more in depth. One and a half years ago (I'm rounding) in April-May '08, I wanted to be a Jesuit priest. I was extremely religious, prayed as much as I could, and was absolutely positive about everything I believed. But I was unhappy with life. I hated school, kids made fun of me, but I always blew it off, saying that I was getting closer to heaven, I would be out of this **** and in a seminary soon, yadda yadda yadda. So I got on Gamespot, as I liked videogames, and found a particular interest in the Off Topic forum.

Often times, I would get into religious debates with people, where I was a closed-minded idiot and always thought I was right, never really taking into consideration what the Atheists were saying. But then, I started to take it into consideration. Stuff started making sense.

Oh ****

I began to think about everything, and soon by early June, I had converted into an Atheist. Funny how fast things went by when I opened up and listened. But that summer was by far the worst summer of my life. Maybe it was the sudden jerk in religious beliefs, or the after effects of such a lousy school year that had made me slightly antisocial. I cried a LOT, and to pass the time by I would go on the Gamespot Forums, and stay up until 5 in the morning. Sometimes I would even venture towards the dreaded... *gulp* ... teh 4 chanz

Basically I went down a downward spiral that summer, but Gamespot kept me up. You can even look back into my blogs, and see all my emo posts that summer :P But the school year came, I got social, and I started to love life again. I slowly began to drift away from Gamespot. By far, it was my favorite school year ever. I had gotten used to my Atheist lifestyle, and everything seemed so much simpler. I made tons of friends, some Atheist so I wasn't totally alone at this Catholic school.

Fast forward to this past summer, I never even logged onto my Gamespot account when I got onto Gamespot. I still played games, checked out reviews and read what other people said on the forums, but never really logged in to say anything. Then about midway through that summer, I started talking to this girl... We'll call her "Jane" ;)

She's been in my class, but we never really talked. She seemed to be too popular for me, and she even admits she always just thought I was a shy guy. But one fateful night she chatted me up on Facebook, said she got a cell phone, and asked for my number. I thought it was pretty random, but we'd talked before and I used to have the biggest crush on her best friend, so we would always talk about her. Now it seemed she had a thing for me.

We started texting, badda bing, this school year came, we admitted we liked each other, the stage was set. The night I asked her out, we still weren't a couple yet, she invited me to come over to her house to meet her family.

I was scared poopless at first, but everything went great, the parents loved me, and I asked her out by the end of the night. She of course said yes.

And ever since then, it's been magic. I've never been happier in my life. And I feel I owe it all to Gamespot, for starting this domino effect. And now that I "have a life", haha, I probably will not be returning here very much at all. So I just thought I would post this final blog, to let you guys that care know how I'm doing. I'm doing perfect. I can already tell this school year will be a thousand times better then last. And though I know only 2 or 3 people will read this, I just wanted to post this.

As a thanks to Gamespot, and a thanks to all you Atheists that helped knock some sense into me. A thanks to all the people that helped me out in my angsty, emo moods during my "transitional summer". You know who you are.

Sionara, Gamespot.

So lately I'm in LOVE with Valkyria Chronicles

Wow, this is a great game. After looking for it for weeks, I finally got my hands on it.If you have a PS3, get it! I've also been playing a few PSN games such as Savage Moon, Pixeljunk Monsters/Eden, and Megaman 9. Megaman and Savage Moon are definitley my favorite purchases off the store so far.

Then I've been watching anime for the first time in two years. It started with me giving Death Note a try, getting it off the PSN store, and I ended up falling in love. I watched 7 episodes in one night. Then I'm also watching Trinity Blood and Basilisk, both very very good.

Lastly, I just finished the second season on Breaking Bad, which is by far my favorite show of ALL time... The story, suspense, and plot twists are mind blowing, and the fantastic drama portrayed by Cranston should definitley win him the Best Actor award this year at the Emmys.

BLOG IN SHORT: Go play Valkyria Chronicles, and go watch Breaking Bad. RIGHT. NOW.

The greatest movie EVER! It's actually here edition!

Yep, my friend Kenny reuploaded it. Keep it on the down low, if our teacher finds out she'll cut our balls off ;)

See earlier blog posts for details on the movie and all the inside jokes in it. I'm the tall, deep voiced blonde kid.

SPEED BLOG! Super speedy edition

All right, so my computer has been dead for the past two months. My dad is too lazy to go get it fixed. I said I was going to become an avid poster on Gamespot during the summer, but I'm not sure if that is going to happen =[

Otherwise, I'm lifeguarding this summer, started to drive, and life is good in general. I've even started writing a lot, after a two or three month break. I've played and beaten Dead Space, which was AMAZING, and Bomberman Ultra on PSN is very fun. I'm also playing Elder Scrolls Oblivion which is addicting as hell.

So yeah, I'm on my mom's lap top and I have to go. So..I hope I get to post again some time!

Forget about the greatest movie of all time...

The movie me and my friends made for New Testament class recieved fantastic reviews from people all over our class. We were, and still are, class heroes for our hilarious movie project. But as I said in the last blog in an edit, the teacher found it incredibly disrespectful (I could only find a couple things you could possibly find slightly disrespectful... Unless you call being light-hearted blasphemous).

The next conspiracy occured when we all found out we got a 20/100 on the project. This was the biggest assignment of the whole year, and our teacher bombed us with a 20%. It docked me 3 letter grades in that class. The next day, she told me that if I wrote a full script for the movie, she would add more points.

Firstly, it's unbelievable how low of a grade she even dared give us. We made a full fledged, 30 minute movie. We chose to do a movie, which was the hardest project choice you could do. We could've done a Powerpoint, or scrapbook where all you had to do was copy and paste stuff. At the lowest, I expected an 80% if the teacher was really so ticked off about it being "disrespectful".

THEN, the MAJOR blow happened today... When she ordered us to take the videos off of Facebook (there were only a few small clips which didn't even make the final cut) AND Youtube. If we didn't, she said she would flunk us and we'd have to retake the class next year.

There's one big problem with this order of hers... And it's that she has no right whatsoever to command us what to do on an outside program like Youtube. It is in no way related to school, and it is our choice to share it with the world. It's not like doing so is spreading the word of Satan, or promoting evil morals.... We just posted a video on Youtube that she personally found offensive, so she made us take it off.

In my mind, I was grumbling about this all day... I even considered not taking it down just to shove it in her face. But later I found out that she made Kenny, the holder of the Youtube account, delete it right in front of the whole class. The past few days, dozens of people have been coming up to me and complaining about how they think it's incredibly unfair of the grade she gave us, and that they didn't find the video offensive at all. So right now, we're basically class heroes.

But I guess no funnies are to be made in religion class.

It's incredible.

B***h.
