If they put all DLC on the disc then maybe they could charge more, but as it is 80 bucks for the base game is more than enough. If anything developers should scale back on their budgets so they don't have to worry about micro transaction/DLC to turn a higher profit.
Problem with Destiny budget is I assume a lot of money is wasted on marketing and presentation. For example Peter Dinklage probably didn't come cheap and they ended up having Nolan North re record all his lines. If Bungie is that fickle with spending money no wonder they need that kind of money.

I may watch my TV shows online, but I view it from my TV, I rather play a vita game on my PSTV than vita and if I could play my 3DS off my TV I would. I play my PS4 off my TV, I basically do everything off my TV less browsing the net. If i'm going to buy a console it better connect to my TV because I want to play off a big screen. In short cable may be a dying breed, but TV consoles certainly are not.
PS4 pro is the smarter investment, If you plan on getting a 4KTV within the next 3 years. If you buy a PS4/slim today you're going to need to buy the system all over again. It's 100 dollars cheaper, so if you can't wait and don't mind potentially buying a system twice get the normal PS4. The Pro on a 1080p set isn't going to be a breathtaking improvement anyways.
I complain that I can't turn on my T.V and hope the power comes back before my 3DS's battery dies. If it dies I guess go to my laptop and watch something and hope the power comes back before its battery dies. This gives me about 5-9 hours of things to do and sleeping could kill another 8-10 hours, so I'd be good for the first day then I'd be bored out of my mind.
Played it on Gamecube,PS2 and PS4, so yes I suppose I enjoyed it. I missed the survival horror aspect of previous RE's, but this was a fun game in its own right.
Its an interesting move, reading up on it, it seems benign enough. My concern is will this make passing the TPP into law and enforcing it easier? I know Obama wants to pass it during the lame duck session, so I'm wondering if this and the TPP could potentially be connected?
Exist Archive and World of Final Fantasy. I've also been looking into mafia 3 and it looks pretty interesting, but I've heard I should play the 2nd game before playing the 3rd.
No, because it locks a player into either it being too easy or too hard. Having additional difficulty modes can encourage starting a new game plus since its adding something new to entice players to play the campaign again. I usually play on hard to start, then if I really enjoyed the game I'll try the professional or nightmare mode for my new game plus. It definitely adds a certain replay value to a game you might have only played once otherwise.
On the flip side a lot of people may find the normal experience too hard. Someone may wish for an experience where they can enjoy the story and have fun, versus dying for an hour at one place and giving up entirely on the game. In the end more difficulties caters to all game play styles, thus making a larger spectrum of an audience happy as a whole.
I agree if they are just there for the point of padding a game, or trophy bait. The biggest one I can think of is the uncharted series treasures. I guess it kinda fits you are a treasure hunter and you find treasure, but I mean you collect it look at it and that's it. I suppose the argument could be made that it helps people explore a whole game world, rather than just the points connected to story advancement.
A game where collectibles were implemented in a good way was the Division, I liked how their collectibles gave context to earlier events prior to the start of the game . If the collectibles flesh out the story in the form of lore then it's cool, but collecting stuff for the sake of collecting stuff, not so much.
