Progressive rock, progressive metal, thrash metal, and grunge.

These are the only subgenres I can think of off the top of my head, but I'm open to most types of metal that don't have "death", "black", or "core" in the name. I've also started listening to some ska/ska punk music lately too.

I hate genres that aren't my language. especially when someone plays it and also doesn't understand the language either.

I guess I'm kind of the same way. Even if the music sounds good, I'd rather listen to songs that are sang in English so I can actually understand the words, since lyrics are an important part of music to me.

I don't think gaming is necessarily dying, but it's definitely been morphing into something new, which is both a good thing and a bad thing. Gaming has become a much bigger part of our culture in recent years, as people of all age and gender demographics are playing video games in one way or another. But at the same time, there are a lot of newer trends in the video game industry that grow worse and worse, like how online gaming has completely changed the way that so many gamers interact with each other, like how spoiled twelve-year olds can hide behind their online identity to be total jerks to everyone else.
