Emily Haines is my idol or something. I adore everythign she does and think it's genious. Fantasies is a bit different than their other albums, but it will grow on you. I'll admit it had to grow on me. Twilight Galaxy is worth the price of the album alone.

Have you listened to Emily solo stuff? If you dig her voice you'll love it. It is quite different from Metric, mainly because it's piano driven, but lyrically spot on. I don't know if this'll help, but I call it rainy day music.

Paying for my dog's stitches probably doesn't count, so I'll say Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, Trauma Center 2, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, and a Blue DSi. After trade-ins at Gamespot I didn't spend as much as that sounds. Actually those are the notable things this week, not one specific purchase.

Pokemon Platinum and cheesy awful pop, e.g. Cher and Britany Spears.

Cat Power's Space Oddity Cover, it's only 30 seconds long, but it sounds incredible. I would kill for a full version.
Brand New/Kevin Devine do great live covers of Neutral Milk Hotel songs and it's the closest I'll ever get to seeing the real thing live.

I am excited to recieve several things I've ordered in the mail. The most prominant being a delux limited edtion bundle from Metric, which I ordered back in the beginning of March. There were some production issues and so it only just shipped yesterday. Ive also got Trrauma Center 2 (DS) and It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia Season 4 on the way.

1. Sarah Palin (I'm a girl it's perfectly acceptable for me to sock her.)
2. Alex Rodriguez
3. Bill O'Rielly

There are quite a few more, but those were the first four to come to mind.

In my opinion, dragon quest monsters could had been better than pokemon, but the game was poorly made if compared to dragon warrior monsters (for gameboy).

I agree wholeheartedly. I loved Dragon Warrior Monsters for the GameBoy. I bought this game and ended up severely disapointed. I wouldn't mind seeing an updated version/port in the style of the Pokemon series. I doubt that will ever happen though.
