[QUOTE="crusadeonacid"]

I bought this on a whim when I was looking for an rpg to play on my PS3. I am glad I did. This is my first foray into the FF series believe it or not and I must say I had no idea what I've been missing. I tend to be more of a WRPG fan, but this game is quickly changing my mind.

I don't know how I missed this. lol IMHO, FFVII is a horrible "first" FF game, let alone to get into the genre. Memories of other gamers will never make a dated game like VII stand the tests of time for most gamers. The only ones that will get a "feel" for VII are those who have already played it. And the few exceptions. I played VII years ago, but even as a kid, the melodramas of FFVII irritated me to no end. Oh, IMO.

Well it certainly isn't my first game of the genre. I love RPGs, but I tend to love WRPGs a lot more. There's not a whole lot of them out there, so I pick and choose my JRPGs very carefully. What would be the next best FF game to try out after this one? I've only got a DSi, PS3, Mac, and gamecube so that probably limits it a little bit.

Bioshock & Fallout 3

Two of my all-time favorites and I'm guessing that's why I enjoy playing them over and over again.

You can add me, but right now I don't have either of those games. Hopefully I will in the future though.

Noted: Those who have bought or played FFVII in the past are the ones praising it now in this thread. It would be interesting to see an opinion outside of the usual "Best game ever because my memories and 77th playthrough says so" bunch... Like maybe a gamer who's playing FFVII for the first time.Symphonycometh

That's me. I posted above. Ha ha

Another decision i need to make is between PROTOTYPE and INFAMOUS. I know that you have all probably been asked this heaps of times on this thread, so if it has been asked before (and a good detailed comparison was given previously) just say so and ill go search for it [on this thread]. But basically i would like to know which one would last me longer. As i understand that one play through of inFamous can take around 30 hours if spent enough time doing other things, what happens when i play through it two times? (once as good and once as bad) I loved spiderman 2 for the ps2 and i spent heaps of time just swinging around and beating up people even after the game was finished, will i have that same feeling after i finish inFamous [two times]? I know that Prototype is more like Spiderman, but I'm just not sure because lots of people always say bad things about it (especially IGN) and i know that many of you will think inFamous is better, hopefully you can put that exclusiveness idea out of your brain :P

Thanks for the help.

I have not played Prototype, but like you, I love jus swinging around in Spiderman 2. I had a blast just walking around. I have just as much fun dimply moving around in inFAMOUS. I downloaded the demo and immediatly could tell how tight the cotrols were and how fluid the movement was. In fact, the first thought that came to mind was the Spiderman game. I suggest you download the demo for inFAMOUS before buying, or game for that matter if the demo is available. I spent a great deal of time on just one playthrough as a hero. Trophies, stunts, and blast shards give you a nice break in between side missions and the main story. I can't speak on behalf of Protoype, but inFAMOUS is a great game all around.

How did you go about getting the free extras like the inFamous theme and Spyro? Do you just download them from the PS Store and they don't charge you?
