Another Korean game that some may not consider an MMO (mainly due to it's "hub" system) But Vindictus

taikathaya

Many players ( myself included) do not consider Vindictus due to its IP block of various regions.

Many people (including myself) dont consider this game because, albeit well made, it has an IP block and is only available to a handfull of areas.

Nexon which produced the game, has given no indication that this block will be lifted or that its making any attempts to do so.

One of the most detested and yet popular free MMOS is Vindictus online, this so because of its controversial IP blocks. Whilst its not new that some MMOs will have IP blocks for diverse reasons, for such a popular and well done MMO to have an IP block is a slap in the face to any fervent gamer.

This has created an air of hostility toward Vindictus, with many categorizing the company as ----, disregarding any factual reasons stated by the company.

Ever since, whenever a new free MMO of such quality is announced the first question in the minds of anyone unlucky enough to live outside the U.S. is, will there be an IP Block?

And so is it with Raiderz online, and has created no small amount of speculation as the company does not seem to have made an official announcement in regards to this topic.

I would appreciate if anyone who did know of an official answer from Perfect world would clarify the issue.

Will there be an IP block for Raiderz online?

Thanks

Ive heard good reviews and Ive heard bad reviews of TERA; I personally have not played it yet, mostly because Im still undecided on the matter, but also because Ive heard that aside from the graphics the combat is the only other thing that keeps people invested in the game. From what Ive heard content in itself is lacking and at times ridiculous.

Even so TERA has recieved acclaim for being a new kind of MMO and whose steps are now being followed by upcoming MMOs like Raiderz, which will not only be endowed with similar gameplay as TERA but will also be FREE-TO-PLAY.

To those with gameplay experience in TERA, and considering the current community and how quickly others are stepping up on TERA's innovative ideas, is there a possibility for TERA to go FREE TO PLAY anytime soon?

a couple I could advice you on are LOTRO Lord of the Rings Online. its free and has option for VIP subscription $10 a month, but as you play you eart TPs or Turbine points (named after the company which developed it) and when you earn enough you can spend them on the Store to buy updates that will eventually get you everything a VIP gets.

LOTRO is known for having one of the friendliest communities of players out there, this may be because its not PvP but rather PvE, although there is a Monster arena in which you get to play as one of Sauron's minnions and fight in any defenders of Middle Earth that wander into the area. The locations are beautiful and exploration constantly reveals new surprises.

Although it gets grindy at times (just like any other MMO) many quests will lead you on an epic story line parallel to the Fellowship of the Ring.

Since I have not tried WOW I can not tell you anything in regards to it, but there is a reason why it is the king of MMOs.

Another I cant advice on but which I can suggest is Vindictus online, just like LOTRO its free to play, but if you are outside the U.S. then your e out of luck since it has servers restricted to that and only a handfull of other regions. I do hear great things about Vindictus but as stated youll have to be living in certain areas to play it.

Though many consider that many of Tera's faults will prove to be its downfall, many (so as to not imply that most) agree that its "true action combat" provides a fresh new aditions to an MMO; Even so its past experience that by the time one hears of it, it has allready been implemented somewhere. This may well be the case for Tera's "true action combat", its likely that there is allready an MMO out there that has implemented this style of combat before or one that is about to do so.

If anyone knows of it I would appreaciate it if you could mention it.

thanks

Though Tera is not a great game in itself, due for the most part to uninspired quest content, it has set a new standard for MMO combat, a feature that has allowed those who have played Tera to overlook dull questing and stay invested on the game. With Teras escalating popularity and how combat alone pulled an otherwise bad mmo into stardom, game developers are soon likely to follow in its footsteps and MMOs are bound to get far more active, action-wise. But what about the MMOs already out there such as World of Warcraft or Lord of the Rings online, even the newly arrived Star Wars The Old Republic; would developers be able to, somehow, redesign their games to meet the new standards of action and combat?. Certainly in the game developers have observed and known how fast the industry is evolving and must have known that there would be a point where such games would need to be modified. Or was it always expected for MMOs to have a limited life span?

Tera is fast approaching and with it the promise of a more fluid and fun style of combat; The majority of MMOs now a days retain the same skill bar formula, and whilst it has worked well, new generations of players ( and even the older ones) demand ever more innovative features out of their MMOs. So where are MMOs headed?, what new worlds do developers promise? and what is likely that they will accomplish?; Furthermore will the MMOs we have come to love such as LORD OF THE RINGS ONLINE, WORLD OF WARCRAFT, and yes!.. even GUILD WARS2 be able to develop enough new content to keep player coming back or would they need to do a full overhaul in their design to keep up with the faster paced MMOs? What would change? are skill bars becoming antiquated? what of grinding.. one of the great obstacles plaging mmos, will they solve it or will it be there forever taunting players? It a grand new horizon for MMOs, and with dusk setting on the current king its a clear sign that something has to change in order for the elder to survive.
