Without going to jail, the max level is 53. This is only possible if you choose 7 Major skills where you don't get a racial bonus, which all belong to a non-specialized skill category. (75 x 7)/10 = 52.5, or 52 levels.
Just keep in mind that you can max out all stats and skills before level 53, and you get weaker as you level past a certain point, not stronger.
Actually I think Mercedes is a good comparison. Solid product but overpriced, you're paying for tech you don't need and paying a premium for what Mercedes has done in the past.
360 is more like Subaru or Toyota, pound for pound arguably superior to the Mercedes but lacking the general public impression of quality and sex appeal.
Which would make the Wii a Ducati, does less than the sedans but the fun factor in what it does do is out of this world.
The answer to both questions is Oblivion.
Well there's N3 and the Dynasty Warriors games...
I fear we'll have to wait for Assassin's Creed or Elveon. Elveon looks fantastic, it's being hyped as LotR meets GoW with Ninja Gaiden depth of combat. Aka "the perfect game."
Riiight... and the guy who was on the Unreal3 engine team, which at the time was optimizing for Flex I/O to make more vram available for UT3, did not know you could get more memory on PS3... Makes perfect sense that UT3 is coming out for a console that can't run Gears...
I admire Cliffy as much as any gamer, but he lied about this, my only question is why.
Since when was Cliffy B. a fanboy? Fail.MegaPigeon
Dude. First Cliffy declared that PS3 cannot run Gears, which was transparently false as Cliff well knew, since the engine that drives Gears will be featured on PS3 with supposedly even better graphics and physics (UT3). And then when he accepted one of the awards for Gears, he ripped PS3's online with Harrison right there on the stage with him, in front of a live audience. That was cold.
Not saying Cliffy is a fanboy, the man is a gaming god; but he has been a PS3 basher for sure. A few days ago he did heap praise on PS3 though, shortly after the Epic CEO said PS3 will win the cycle. Maybe Cliff got a memo.
Well. Most here are talking units sold. I'm more interested in the impact of the industry as a whole supporting PS3. I'm not saying that's the case, yet, and the raw numbers still work against Sony; but we seem to be heading in that direction. 360 sold 10 million and cross-platform games have always looked better on 360 than PS3. And yet there are *already* (by my rough count) more analysts predicting PS3 victory than 360.
Do you guys think that won't impact units sold? I for one do think it will have an impact. Combine the brand name, which is now synonymous with gaming; with Sony's convergence with its tv division; with the most recognizable franchises not named Halo; with the seemingly inevitable triumph of Blueray (HDDVD cannot win with zero adverts in the face of a Blueray PR avalanche) -- combine all of this with the gaming industry, from news editors to devs to retailers, declaring PS3 the console to own. To me that looks like an insurmountable hurdle for Nintendo or MS.
This is an abstract issue for me I should note, I have both 360 and PS3. Even if I had only 360, where I spend 99.9% of my gaming time, still wouldn't bother me if PS3 dominated, the already announced list of 360 titles is more than I have time to play.
Am I alone in thinking this? Over the past few weeks representatives of every segment of the gaming industry -- print and web based news sites, devs and pubs and retailers -- have heaped praise on the PS3, including former PS3-basher Cliffy B.
It makes perfect sense for the industry to support Sony in this, no one wants to give up the Playstation cashcow. But I've no clue whether this is a claculated PR scheme or genuine analysis. I honestly can't see any serious analyst seeing Home as a major plus for a gaming console and that's been the only major Sony announcement; but otoh the screens for upcoming PS3 titles are droolworthy.
Either way, vocal 360 partisans better watch out, you might be eating a lot of crow in a year.
Don't trust the dashboard battery gauge. Don't trust the blinking light on the controller either. The only reliable indicator is when the controller actually shuts itself off. Even then you can just turn it back on and get 1-2 hours more use.
