Ok, so in the past I have owned both consoles, and enjoyed both. However right now, I can only own one.

I own a really awesome gaming PC right now, but would like a 360 or PS3 to compliment it. Both of these consoles have their massive advantages, and both are awesome.

The only thing putting me off a 360 is the RROD, and the only thing putting me off the PS3 is a $315 out of repair warranty fee (Australian dollars). So what is better? A console that breaks down frequently but has a free warranty repair, or a console which breaks down less regulary, but when it does break you have to pay a big fee. I just cannot decide.

There are also just so so many other factors to decide. So I need you guys to help.

Which console should I get? What consoles do you own, and which do you like best?

But what actually causes it then? Surely some computer geek somewhere has figured out the technical terms as to what the problem is when RROD occurs.

So you guys think it will never be fixed? Is it even that big of a problen now days though?

I am a very happy Xbox 360 owner right now, I have been through all the consoles, and the 360 is the one I like best.

I was just curious as to whether you guys think the RROD issues will ever be fixed? Are they already fixed?

Also, what is the exact cause of the RROD? Like what happens inside the console to make it get the RROD? Surely if it was something like overheating they would just add an extra fan or something. So what is the actual technical problem? Surely somebody has figured it out by now.

I AM NOT TROLLING, I just really want to know what you guys think about this and what you know.

Thanks!

I just have a few questions for you guys to do with the Xbox 360 being vertical or horizontal.

How do you have yours?

Which way is better?

I currently have mine vertical because it is the only way it will fit into my setup.

Do some of you think it could just possibly be the game?

All signs point to that I have a healthy PC, there is nothing wrong with it.

I have tested my system in 3D mark and it works fine.

To be honest I am not really sure how to update the intel chipsets and motherboards etc.

I have put the drivers that came with the PC on their, but I am not sure if they are up to date. Would that really affect my game though?

I think I might wait and try another game with similar graphics.

I just ordered Lost Via Domus really cheap (I know crap game) only because it has pretty good graphics and I can test to see if that stutters or not.

I am not to keen on doing any of these rememdies unless they have a high chance of working, I have nearly done everything to try and fix it and so far nothing works.

But do you think its even the drivers causing the problem?
