He didn’t look affected by it yesterday. And I don’t see Peyton Manning or Brady or pretty much any starting QB working double duty as a kick holder. For years Dallas has used the punter as the kick holder until the washed up Parcels came to town. More proof that the game has clearly passed him by. He should have retired last year. I think most other coaches have it wrong. I think they should use the third string quarterback--second string if there's no third--as a holder because it gives you options. Nobody's going to worry about a punter running a play. But if there's even a hint that something else may be coming, that will give opposing defenses something to think about. Or--though it didn't work this time--if something goes wrong, who do you think has a better chance of coming up with something for the play, the punter or a quarterback, even if he's third string?
