No - if another person were created to be on a molecular level (or any level) exactly like me - it would be a copy of me - but not me. It could think it was me - but it's existence is entirely seperate from myself. Just because it has the same set of molecules wouldn't change the fact that I was the original - and that it is a copy.

That's precisely my point, really: what makes you "you"? We really do not have an answer to that question.

Yes we do - modern science tells us it's more or less the memories and thought processesgoing on in our brain that gives us the ability to think - and therefor exist. If our brain were to cease functioning - we would be brain dead and thus ourconciousness would dissipate right along with it.
But that's the thing - you say that it would not be "you", yet it would be a complete copy of you right down to every single particle. If your memories and thought processes are what makes you "you" as opposed to someone else, then why would an exact replica with the exact same memories and thought processes not be "you"? What differentiates you - as in the conscious person to whom I am talking right now - from that copy?
Nothing, and that's why souls don't exist. Humans have an indulged ignorant perspective of their existence in which they believe they hold some special place in the universe, as if their life, to nature, is worth any more than the fly laying eggs in feces. In my opinion when people die, they simply stop existing, there is no pain, there is not anything, there is just nothing, you no longer think because you are no longer alive- you no longer exist, and this scares people because the thought of no longer being is something most minds simply cannot comprehend. But if an exact copy was made of all your thoughts, feelings, and opinions it would, in essence, be you, there would be no way around it, the only way around it is through the argument that people have souls- but unfortunately this is where all arguments within science and religions end; scientist need proof or they will not believe it while religions will follow what they have been brought up to believe, regardless of facts contradicting it.
