You should definitely play. They are life-changing for gamers who get into them.

I originally got back into them way back on the old Gameboy. I tried out the first one on NES at my friend's house, but I didn't have a Nintendo then. I had a Gameboy so I played FF Adventure, which was a fantastic game. I played the FF Legend series as well on Gameboy. But FFIII (or FFVI in Japan) really sold me on the series - it was phenomenal. I didn't have time to play FFVII though (each FF is a serious time commitment). I regret not playing FFVII, so I'm hoping that it is remade for the PS3 (lots of speculation about that). Anyway, I played FFXII recently and really liked it too (though I don't think any FF will compare to the one that hooks you into the series - in my case FFIII).

I'd recommend playing the newest one that comes out. The old ones are terrific, but they're probably harder for newcomers to get into because the graphics aren't as good and the play can be slower compared to newer games. But if you have patience and are willing to tolerate older looking graphics, you won't be disappointed by the older ones - they are classics!

jojack, is your PS3 plugged into a power strip or straight into a wall outlet? You may have had a power surge which would have interrupted the power to the PS3 (a strong surge could damage your PS3's components). Try unplugging it, wait a few minutes, and plug it back in. If it works, great. If not, probably will have to call Sony. If you don't have a power strip, get one. It's the best protection for problems like that.

I was thinking of getting a headset. Can anyone recommend one? I know there's the official PS3 headset, but I'd like to know if there are better ones out there. Also, does anyone have a headset that they use like earphones? I.e., use the headset to hear the sound of their games so they can mute the TV and not bother anyone around them. Any advice is helpful. Thanks all.

Thanks NeoReno. I did get try the demo and I enjoyed it, except for some framerate issues while playing multiplayer. Looks like it is fun, but I wonder if it stays fun. Think you can squeeze $10 woth of entertainment out of it?

IGN slammed it with a 2.0. I'm guessing Gamespot isn't even bothering to take the time to review it (though it looks like it could be good material for a sarcastic review). Was wondering if anyone is playing it, and what they think of it? Is it as bad as IGN makes it out to be? Thanks.

I can't believe people actually would pay to get into a beta. So absurd to have to pay for an incomplete product, especially when you have to do work as well (report bugs, test functionality, etc.) Arguably Sony does owe something to its loyal fans that supported the PS3 early on when it was floundering. If nobody bought the uber-expensive, titleless PS3 back then, it would be dead and Home would be a distant memory.

So I'm on the fence about GT5 Prologue. I tried the HD Concept and liked it. Never was much of a racing simulator fan but I'm interested in trying out a new genre of games, and Gran Turismo has certainly peaked my interest with its realism.

However, is it worth getting Prologue, or should I just wait for GT5 itself? Will there be a price reduction for GT5 for the Prologue owners? Paying $40 for Prologue, and then paying $60 for GT5 seems ridiculous if GT5 includes Prologue's content. Or will the PSN offer an update pack for Prologue to bring it up to speed (pun intended) with GT5? Any info and advice is welcomed.

Thanks!
