My friend and I are looking for a fun muiltiplayer game thats not too demanding on a system, so any old ones would do. Doesn't really matter what genre, but not really interested in FPS though. We have been tooling around with Warcraft 3 but were not really good at it though.

Thanks for your replies.

Yeah, I haven't removed the cap so it sits around 60 the whole time.

For easy strategy games I love the Total War games or Civilizations 3 or 4, and also Europa Universalis 3 is great if you like history. But if your weird or nerdy like me one of my favorite games is Hearts of Iron 2 DD, its amazing if you live past the learning curve.

I've been spending a lot of money on my new PC and was wondering if a expensive laser mouse would make that much difference playing games. The best mouse I have ever used is the 10$ optical one that came with my system, but I just wish the mice on display at the stores would be hooked up so I could feel the difference.

I am a all around gamer, but most of the games I play are strategy or RPG, and all the reviews I read about the Logitech G5 talk about how impotent it is with FPS though, so I was wondering if I would benefit from it.

I haven't found very much info on this so if you have any links or anything it would be helpful.

Thanks

Rats in the basement/sewers in RPG games.

Treasure chests.

And all powerful dark lords ALWAYS has some sort of weakness that one small random traveler can exploit.

Also if anyone played bards tale, it made fun of a lot of these cliches.

Yeah I've never met a girl that likes those types of games, except my sister. She played the heck out of age of empires 2, back when it was cool. I think girls tend to lean toward simple RPG/action games.

id love to see a 4X game (like MOO or Space Empires) where your focus is NOT combat but rather to build an empire ala sim city in space. there can and should be combat but it shouldnt be the focus of the game. i love the whole 4X genra but im just tired of building an empire and conducting research ONLY for the purpose of making fleets and fighting to get more space to build more fleets etc. planet development should be the driving factor, and population manipulation, and diplomacy should mean something. if i make an alliance with someone it should be importiant and enduring not just a handy tactic for a few turns while you kill off a different enemy. an easy example of how things could be changed is instead of starting with a 'galactic senate' like almost all 4X games have in common, i as the player would need to create a level of diplomacy to form that Senate my/our selves. i want to literaly start from one planet with very limited tech (not even having 'colony ships' or a intersteller'scout' or even the tech to make em yet)and expand from there. each planet i gain should actualy be special not just a 'ship yard' planet or a 'food planet' or a 'tech planet' etc. MOO 3 almost had it right and i susspect if they were allowed to finsih the game it would have come pretty close to my ideal but even MOO 3 stressed combat far to much

i want to be a true emperor, not just the grand admiral of the fleet.

Yeah,

I would love to see an expanded form of Space Empires, which would have better diplomatic options.

I have yet to see any game with a good diplomacy system. So my dream game would be any strategy game with a realistic alliance system, one that has many options, for example create alliances, alliance types, deals between alliances. Like a civ game where you can create organizations like UN or the EU.
