Thanks for ur help anyway man, I'm pretty sure its used anyway there was a large finger print on the battery....

Yeah it was from my current PC, i did the test with only the mobo and psu on anti static but still doesnt work..another possibility is that the 4 pin doesnt work.. argh i got a headache..

I've checked with 2 different rams.
First is the new one I bought 2 x2gb and old set 2 x 1 gb both same but old ones are revision 2 and have better CL? I bought the wrong ram..

It doesnt say anything about supporting Pentium Dual Cores and 45nm in its manual, someone said something about needeing a bios upgrade I think this may be the case. I do have another super broken pc but it has a working p4 chip in it, time to try that in this mobo

All it came with was IDE SATA AND floppy cables. I'm trying to see if it actually supports the cpu

I didnt think the pins would fit but it did and it did power on.. so the psu is indeed fine and its the mobos prob. I think I'll just have to exchange it.

After trying 2 switches and short circuit with no boot it cant be the power switch.

Yeah my ancient pc is a pc.

The Power switch pins that could switch it on as it doesnt switch on through the switch.

Do ASUS mobos usually come with manufacturer seals?

How do I short circuit? Do i just touch the pins with a screw driver?

But since the power goes through doesnt that mean the PSU works? It is brand new and never used.

I had a ps2 before with a blown mobo but power still went through, though I really hope theres nothing wrong with the mobo cause returning it is bothersome
