I have revamped my review of Infinity Ward's Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

(My longest review to date).

Iam getting pretty excited about the new update to the Xbox 360 dashboard. Scheduled for a Autumn/Fall release, it's going to provide the Xbox 360 with a cleaner, fresher, crisper and less cluttered interface. Although a release date hasn't been announced, I have a feeling it will be released before November 7th (Gears of War 2 Day) as Microsoft will want to combine it's new interface with it's blggest blockbuster game since Halo 3. I'm just excited about how it will feel a lot like YOUR Xbox 360 rather than AN Xbox 360 with your gamercard on it. The themes look better. Marketplace looks better. Everything just looks crisper. The Party system looks great. The chance to chat with your friends without actually being in a game lobby. The chance to copy your games to your HDD isn't really exciting but more relieving. the chance to get rid of one of the xbox 360's biggest problems, the noise it makes when it's booting up a game is a great relief. Primetime looks okay as well.I just can't wait for a crisper more friendly dashboard to help me through the dashboard. combine this with Gears of war 2, then the xbox 360 will be irrasistable come Winter.

Come the end of the summer, the games start to roll out. It's how we deal with the wintery wastes. There a lot of blockbuster games coming out this Winter. What are you looking forward to the most? For me, it's got to be Gears of War 2. E3 just made me want it so much... Bit disappointed it's only 2 player co-op but ...

Anyway been playing one game this week.....Halo 3. Got to Major Grade 2; 31 in Team Slayer. You will probably catch me on Call of Duty 4 a bit this weekend but mostly on Halo.

Halo 3 proved many people wrong who said that it's new found title of "Most Played Game on LIVE for the week July 14th" was because of Bungie Day. Well, Halo 3 proved them wrong because Halo 3 is the Most Played game on LIVE for the week July 21st. I've got to say that I really didn't get into Halo 3 till about 2 months ago. But now I can't get enough. I am sick and tired of Call of Duty 4. With it's unfair perk system, it's unfair matchmaking system and it's lack of anything to make people play like a team. The game is practically saying " Go out on your own and get some kills or you wont get promoted." Halo 3 forces you to work as a team because the only way to get promoted is to win the game and the only way of winning is playing as a team. The matchmaking system is a lot fairer to. 28 in Team Slayer. Nearly a Major!

Can I just point out that I only put games on "What I've Been Playing this Week" if I've put good amount of time into them. Like GTA IV is on my gamercard but I was on it just while something downloaded for 10 minutes.

I wouldn't say I've "retired" but I'd say I am now a semi-pro at Call of Duty 4 now. You wont see me on it much maybe once every 2 weeks but yeah.. Call of Duty... very boring at the moment. Anyways, been playing this week...

Anyways, on majornelson.com, Halo 3 is back on top of the Most Played Xbox LIVE Game list. Giving CoD4 a good shove. People say " Oh no, it's a fluke because of Cold Storage!" I honestly don't think it's a fluke, I know a lot of people who are getting really tired of Call of Duty 4, me included. However, while other people went to Halo 3, me and my mates went back to the legend that is Gears of War! I've seriously forgotten how much I loved this game, and I'm just having so much fun playing it again. Gears of War 2 will come out and will stomp on Halo 3. i personally think Call of Duty 4 will be undone by it's own game. Call of Duty: World at war will split the CoD Fanboys. Some will stay loyal to Infinity Ward and play Modern Warfare. Some will play CoD: WaW simply because it has 'Call of Duty' on the front. I just can't see Call of Duty 4 being the force it is now by the time Gears 2 come out. I think Halo 3 will survive the Gears onslaught, it has its Bungie fanboys and people who don't like Gears, and I'll the first to admit there is a few. However, Halo has stood the test of time. Gears of War is 4th despite being released in November 2006. I could be wrong, but I think this is the first sign of Call of Duty starting to crack. People are reaching 55 Golden cross and thinking "hmmmm, now what?" Basically, here's my prediction:

July- September

Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4 battle it out for Most Played Game on LIVE. Going back and forth every week.

September-October

Halo 3 becomes firmly the leader as the Call of Duty 4's fanbase starts to fade. Gears of War really close to CoD4 as people get excited about the sequel.

November-December

Gears of War 2 is released and goes straight to #1 till 2009. Halo 3 falls to second. Call of Duty: World at War is released and the CoD community is split. People don't like the new CoD game, 6/10 goes to Gears 2, 2/10 go to Halo 3 1/10 goes to CoD4.

So basically, CoD4's downfall will be it's sequel. Which, to be honest, I can't see being good. A lot of people I know dont want to play the WWII genre. So this game could fall flat on it's face.
