Up until a couple days ago, I had always just unplugged my ethernet cable from my PC directly into my PS3 whenever I wanted to get online. I got tired of doing this so I bought a Linksys NH1005-WM hub. I hooked my modem into the hub's uplink port and then ran a cable to my PC and a cable to my PS3. Everything worked great the first night I used my PS3. I was able to get online and played COD4. The next day I attempted to get online with my PS3 and I got the error message that says "An error occurred during communication with the server. This is a DNS error. (80710102)" So I decided to unplug the hub and plug it back in but that did nothing. I then just unhooked the hub and ran the cable straight from my modem to my PS3 like I had always done in the past but now I get the same DNS error message. So am I right in assuming that the problem has nothing to do with the hub now? Why would it work just fine one day and not the next when I am positive that I changed absolutely nothing? Some people in another forum wrote that you can't share an internet connection with just a hub, you need a router. But if this is true then why did it work the first time I tried it? I also tried changing my DNS numbers on my PS3 after reading some other posts on this matter but that did not help. Anyone know what else I could try? Keep in mind I just have a hub so I can't change any IP settings or things like that on the hub itself. Also I have disabled the media server function on my PS3. I would really appreciate any help in this matter as I don't have much experience in networking.

I'm having problems signing in. It says "An error occurred during communication with the server. This is a DNS error. (80710102)

Obviously my internet connection is working fine since I'm on this site right now. Anyone else having issues?

300 or Planet EarthJared2720

I thought 300 was probably the worst blu-ray I've seen so far in terms of picture quality. They intentionally added in a lot of grain. It worked alright for the movie but it's definitely not one that shows of how good a blu-ray can look.

My user name is ab_tremonti. I just finally played online a little last night for the first time and I think I need a little more practice as I pretty much got slaughtered in the free for all.

I definitely want to pick up one of these but I can't make up my mind. Who has actually played both games? It seems that Call of Duty 4 has more replay value with the online features, but Uncharted's single player story sounds really good as well. If you've played both, which one did you like better?

So if quality might vary, are the Sony cables worth getting?

I just ordered a Toshiba 65" 1080p television and am supposed to get it tomorrow. I need to buy an HDMI cable for it now. Do all HDMI cables work at 1080p on the PS3? I went to Wal-Mart and Target and saw some cables for around $40. Target also had HDMI cables made by Sony that specify they support 1080p and are made for the Playstation 3. However, they cost $60. I also know I can get really cheap HDMI cables online for $10 or less. So will any of them work or do I need to buy the PS3 cable from Target to be sure?

I have been considering buying a Toshiba 65HM167 65" 1080p DLP HDTV. Are DLP's of this size good for gaming? Or should I go for a 50" plasma TV for about the same amount of money?

I saw that today is the release date for MLB 07.  I have been wanting this game for awhile now.  I chose not to make a decision on a baseball game until this one came out.  I was kind of expecting it to be pretty good, but I just read a review on 1up.com and they gave it a pretty poor rating of 5.5.  Their reviews aren't real in depth, but basically they said the graphics kinda suck.  They said Major League Baseball 2K7, despite it's own flaws, is the way to go.  So if anyone has played The Show, let me know what you think.

I'm definitely waiting until The Show comes out in April.  I really don't understand why anyone would buy 2K7 before The Show comes out.  I waited for both to come out last year and picked up MLB 06: The Show based on better reviews and I thought the game was pretty sweet.  So I plan on doing the same this year.  The rosters should be more accurate based on the later release date as well.  It sounds like 2K7 looks good but doesn't really play that well.  Is the frame rate really as bad on the PS3 as the reviewer states? I really wish the PS3 version of The Show or 2K7 would let you put your own music into the game during player walk-ups.
