Yeah, I have that one too. Better the Arc The Lad III but doesn't come remotely close to being as good as Arc The Lad II.

If you have a gamecube or Wii I'd say get the GC RE remake of RE1. Otherwise I'd say go with the directors cut version. The Wiki article for Resident Evil gives a good rundown of the differences from the original release.

[QUOTE="Emerald_Warrior"]A related question: I'm sure everyone has noticed that there are USB ports on PS2s. Can you save games to Flash Drives or onto another hard drive that's connected (such as a PC)?Kaim91

I don't think so. Not that I know what the USB ports are for, but I believe you need memory cards specifically made for PS2 to save games.

The USB ports can be used for a mouse and keyboard. FF VII: Dirge of Cerberus is the only game I can think of that supports this though.

For me I consider anything prior to last gen (GC, PS2, Xbox) as retro.

To be quite honest. It may sound stupid but sex is the only probable option for simple reasons. If you go back a few hundred years that would have been the only option they would have chosen and they managed quite well if i say so myself. The rest are just 20th century gimmicks and alcohol will kill you.mystic_knight
Completely agree with this.

Hi,

Just want to know...

Is it better to play a PS2 Games on a (80GB) PS3 with Backward-Compatible Software Emulation or the actual PS2 Console?

Let's say I play Persona 4. Better on my PS3 w/ BC Software Emulation or PS2 Console? Is there a huge difference in Quality/Graphics?

Thanks :)

I'd say it's safer to play it on an actual PS2 if you have one available. I played Persona 3 and 4 on my 60Gb PS3 and there is a bug or glitch that corrupts save files if your not careful. When your saving it will randomly say that saving has failed, if this happens back out of the save menu all together, go back in, and resave in the same spot. If you don't notice that save falied message (because your saving before heading to bed at 4am after playing for six hours) you'll be greeted with a "save data corrupted" message when you try to load the data the next time you play. It's a minor bug that can be avoided by paying close attention while saving.

That is the only issue I had playing Persona 3 and 4 on my ps3 but I was using hardware emulation, you might run into different weirdness using software emulation but if there were any big issues people would be talking about it. Hope that helps.

Somebody knows how much time those things last?i don't want to loose all my data in my gameboy games

From what I understand SNES cart batteries last about ten years or so. I'd guess GB and GBC carts that use them won't last that long. Unfortunately you will lose that save data, it's only a matter of time. You can replace the batteries, it's not that hard but doing so will erase your save files. So you can wait for them to go or you can swap out the battery for a new one and lose them anyway. I know it sucks, I've got a FF III SNES cart with three saves from three different plays with over 99:99 on them. That was about half of my fifteenth year of life right there and it's all going to go up in smoke. At least we have the memories.
