Yes this game is still fun, the music is boss to. I named my first city Gotham, then I'll make another city right next to it and call it Metropolis :P

Nobody checks the games recommendations thread anymore? Get Uncharted 1&2, then God of War 3 or Killzone 2.

Since you don't have a good gaming PC then get them for PS3. I have both for PS3 and bot game of the year editions, I haven't had any problems with either one. Only Fallout 3 froze once but I haven't gotten very far in it yet. I heard it's only in certain areas where it freezes. Mostly in the DLC areas?

For anyone who still plays this game, what is or are the name of your cities? Since you can build multiple cities I'm sure most of you have many names :P

I believe the size of your screen also matters. I only have a 26'' LCD and it can only go up to 1080i and 720p. But for me either way its a great improvement than playing without any HDMi cables. I bought them for $50 bucks at EB games.

You don't have the right to call yourself Hardcore till you've beaten

Contra without the code

Castlevania 1, 2, 3

Ghost and Goblins

and Silver Surfer.

Obviously the NES was the true hardcore gamers console.

Pixel-Pirate

Add TMNT to that list, the first one not the second one.

[QUOTE="dog_dirt"]

With games like Demon's souls, Uncharted 2 and Infamous its clear to me the Playstation 3 is a console aimed at the PURE hardcore. It has single player experiences you just can't get on any other platform.

Am I right or am I right ?

how long have you been gaming? i have been gaming since i was 11, that's 24 years, i started out on the spectrum 48k, are you trying to tell me that because i have no interest in owning a ps3, i am not a hardcore gamer, how old are you? i was probably a hardcore gamer while you where still in nappies mate, people that play SMG all the time are hardcore gamers, a hardcore gamer is someone who plays games all the time, it doesn't matter which system you own, if the only thing you do in your spare time is game, then you are a hardcore gamer, and you call demons soul hard? pfft, back in the days of the speccy 48k there where no checkpoints or save features in games, if you died you had to start the whole game from the beginning, demon's soul is weaksauce compared to the games i used to play, i would say you are dead wrong, based on many years of experience, it's not the console that makes a hardcore gamer, it's how much you are devoted to any game.

My first video game system was Coleco Vision, then NES, Gameboy, SNES, Gameboy Colour, N64, Gameboy Advanced, GCN, PS2, Nintendo DS and now PS3. I've only owned about 30-40 games for each system. I wouldn't call Demon Souls weaksauce unless you've actually played it. From what I've heard there aren't any check points and you go back to the beginning (In a place called the nexus) But it is an RPG. I haven't picked it up yet, but I plan to though I'm currently playing Fallout 3 Goty edition. Now I don't agree with the TC's comment. Although there isn't a true definition of a "pure hardcore gamer" I don't even call myself one even if all I ever did was play video games in my spare time.

Also since it would be on Blu-ray I think they'd be able to include Ressurection of Evil expansion on it and maybe even another expansion specially made for PS3. They mentioned that Doom 4 on dvd will be on 3 discs while Blu-ray will stay on one disc. I also just read that since id was acquired by ZeniMax Media, Doom 4 will be published by Bethesda Softworks.

So you guys/gals? who are fans of id, do you still want a Doom 3 for the PS3? Or are you just waiting for Doom 4 and Rage. I think it was last year when Carmak promised us a Super Doom 3 but I guess that idea got canned. In any case I still have a couple of games to play while I wait for Doom 4 and Rage.
