Yay, it's my birthday!

Woohoo, it's my 27th birthday and as of today I'm the proud owner of a Wii!!I've got two games;Wii Sports, which came with the console, and Super Paper Mario! I really want to get Zelda Twilight Princess, but it's pretty damn expensive!! It'sa whopping60 euro's (about $85).

Any suggestionsfrom Wii owners out there, which games are good and which ones should I stay away from? Let me know! 8)

And have some pie, while you're here! ;) Want a beer with that?

Dayzee into DS-mode

Well, I haven't been around for a while since I was busy with my exams and all. Then finally, summer vacation arrived! But since it's been raining and thunderstorming for weeks now, and going outside is not really an option, a good way for enjoying yourself indoors is obviously gaming!

So I got myself a brandnew Nintendo DS Lite (white) the other day! It's definately going with me when I travel to the USA this year (10+ hours on an airplane). I bought Brain Training (aka Brain Age) along with it, which wasn't the best choice as I found out at home. It's a nice game, not too expensive, and yes it's even fun. But it's not a game you'll play for hours straight, like I do with Zelda the Minish Cap and Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga. On the first day of playing the game, the game options are limited to 4 different games and I played only 2 of them several times. I did the 100 calculationsandthe low-high memory game, but after a while you're pretty much done with the whole thing for the rest of the day! I think it's a fun game for maybe 15 to 30 minutes a day, and then it gets old. It wasquite disappointing, so I sat there with my brandnew DS but didn't have a fun game that could last me for hours  I wrote a review, for those who are interested.

Obviously I'm looking into getting another game and I've seen several that seem to be good. Metroid Prime Hunters, Castlevania, Mario & Luigi etc. Probably loads more, but I want to do a little more reading on this site before I actually go out and buy one.

Something else I'm excited about is that I bought Golden Sun and Golden Sun the Lost Age (both GBA) today and for a good price too! I've heard so many good things about these games, I can't wait to receive them!

So what's up with you Dayzee?

I'm getting more profile views lately, and I would love to hear from those who take the time to have a look at my scribblings. So I thought, maybe if I write a bit about myself, then *maybe* some likeminded folks would like to get in touch? Or even if you have a completely different taste in games or interests, just drop me a line and tell me how I can't possibly live on without having tried thàt computergame! :)

Ok so, here are the basics: 26 years old, female, the Netherlands. I've been living with my bf for a couple of years, and our two cats. When it comes to games, I've been gaming ever since I was just a kid. As you can read in my previous blog post, I'm a GameBoy addict and have been for almost 18 years! I still play many of the old games, like Tetris, Dr. Mario, Super Mario Land etc. I currently play my GB games on my beloved GBAsp Tribal Edition. On a schoolday I travel about 6 hours by train, so my GBA is a very welcome companion on these trips! My latest additions are Sims 2 Pets, Zelda the Minish Cap and Lego Star Wars II. If you want to know what I think, read my reviews

Next to my GBA, my favourite platform is the PC. We do own a PS2, but somehow that's just not my cupotea. On the PC I started with games like Day of the Tentacle (gotta love it!), Toonstruck, Psycho Pinball, Colonization, Theme Park, SimCity and loads more. I often wish I could still play these games. Even though their graphics are not what we're used to today, these games were just so much fun to play and often brilliant in their simplicity!

Now that we're in the year 2000+, I play many different types of games. I think if you could see me (just 152cm/5ft short and a very soft voice) you'd label me as a typical girlgamer. Yes I do enjoy the Sims games, very much even! But somehow people are often surprised to find out that I also enjoy shooters like Medal of Honor (AAS multiplayer!) and Half-Life 2 :wink

Ok, enough about me! What's up with you?

Argh blog frustrations!

I've been typing on a blog text for a while, but when I try to post it I get this stupid error message:

Errors:

Well needless to say, my message is far from blank, and it doesn't even contain any HTML! :x What's up with this??

The mysterious disappearances of emblems..

I visit this site almost every day, and every day there seem to be one or more emblems missing from my 'collection'. One day I have the PC afficiondo emblem, and the next it's gone again, only to re-appear the day after. So where do they run to when you're not looking?

Not that I care that much about my emblems, I'm a grown-up, sorta! :D (Ok, I must admit, I LOVE my oldschool emblem  ) But what's up with these things, do they decide on a day-to-day basis where they're going to hang out? If you are able to shed some light on this mystery, feel free to drop me a line

How Dayzee met GameBoy

Today I decided to go through my stack of GameBoy games and add them to my collection list on this website. Aaah, what a marvelous walk through memory lane! *insert sappy music here*

Well, me and my GB go waaaay back! It was the year 1989.. I was 9 years old at the time. It was the best Christmas Eve ever, because my brother and I both received a GB from Santa! I still remember the tv commercials: it was amazing this hand-held gaming system, you could fit it into your back pocket! Yeah, you COULD fit it into your back pocket, but don't try to sit down or anything

Anyway, with the GB, the most awesome classis game, Tetris was included! Plus we received two more games from Santa: World Cup Soccer and Dr. Mario! And here we are, 17 years later, and I still enjoy playing these games! 8)

Over the years the GB has evolved, and I have bought several versions: GBPocket, GBColor, GBAdvance (what a horrible screen!!) and my current GBA SP Tribal Edition. I still have the old ones in my posession though. Everytime when I go through my closet and come across them, especially my first one, it makes me smile.. HAH you can put it in your pocket they said! *snickers*

So today I listed and counted my collection, and the total adds up to 35 games, of which 20 are classic GB games and 12 are GBA games. And I still play a lot of the old games, even after all these years they still rock!
