As for this story, I read it and there are SO many things wrong with this. You cannot just make some story that obviously has a spin in an argument. And this isn't a subtle spin. It's very obvious. There are too many things wrong with this story for me to deal with them on this forum. Contact me if you want to argue some point with this. I'll be open minded. Let me just ask this though:
Do you not think that Godly wisdom is beyond human understanding? Or do you think Socrates is some superhuman that has the mental capacity of a god?
If you do not beleive in Godly wisdom you must not believe there is a single, all powerful God. Therefore, you being on a forum discussing whether or not God (assuming he does exsist) doesn't make any sense.

I myself am a Christian, and I think this story is fabricated and stupid. You cannot take every situation (i.e. cold is the absense of heat) and compare it to something else. The world doesn't work like that. Every situation is different.
I however don't think God created evil. None of you (at least that I read on the first two or three pages) even gave a rational definition of evil. Of course it's not just an absence of good. Evil isn't really an action. It's a mindset. You have to be evil to do something evil. God isn't evil and thusly cannot do or create evil. When he created humans he gave them free will. In giving humans free will instead of making us bend to his will and not have one of our own, we were given a choice to be good or be evil. WE create evil. God didn't and doesn't
All of this is assuming that you even believe in God in the first place.
