The reason for deja vu is a rare case when your brain perceives what you see, quicker than usual. Your brain automatically perceives the sight faster than your eyes( or something like that) so your brain detects it maybe a nanosecond faster than your eyes so technically you saw it, before. Which is why you're like "wait aminute, I've seen this some where"

Edit: Yeah I botched it up. Basically its when your eye perceives the image a nanosecond faster than your other eye and creates the sensation that you're re-experiencing that moment.
