However you can obtain viruses by accepting files form other people.

Your MSN can be hijacked by a virus you downloaded seperately.. but so can trillian or AIM or yahoo messanger.

The cell can never be used for general purpose computing applications because it only has 1 general purpose processor and its only IN-ORDER. in short... it would suck compared to lower clock speed older destop cpu's we are use too. The cell will only be used for specailized things that can use its SPU's. So IMO yes its better because it can do all the general stuff we are use to doing much better, but so can all the current CPU's out there.

Well i did develope games for cellpnes in my last job. so i think i know more then most of the clueless fanboys on here. Ive done alot of multithreaded games and its IMPOSSIBLE to break some things up. Months ago people were saying ooo you can just put the AI code on 1 SPU and the pathing on another SPU blah blah blah... but they dont understand that teh SPU's dont share memory and you cannot do anything complicated on the SPU's. fanboys just like to live in their own little world beleive whatever they want.

EDIT: why are u guys saying it would look any better if they could use the other 4 SPU's? this is the CPU not the graphics card we are talking about. does buying a 3 ghz processor for your pc make it look better then a 2 ghz processor? no its the graphics cards and the amout of graphics memory that determines how much texture detail and the # of polygons

This source is so wrong... According to this atricle the price to make a ps3 HAS INCREASED.

$60 chasis? WTF (wasn't it $20 in the last article)

$54 for a 60 gig HDD and $43 for a 120 gig HDD??? why does the 60 gig cost way more, and why is it more expensive then the cost breakdown of when the ps3 launched.

$150 for "OTHER COMPONENTS".... WHAT OTHER COMPONENTS? they already listed everything. I cannot name a single thing they forgot... its not like adding the ps2 chip is still an expense.

And apparently ps3's are assembled by rich white guys whereas the 360 is made by starving people in a 3rd world country cause the ps3 costs 7 times as much to put together for some reason.

I SERIOUSLY doubt the credibility of this article, especially since there was already a cost breakdown of the ps3 and it differs GREATLY from this one.
