Cost 80 mill to make?! Its a good movie... but not 80 mill good. Heck I would recommend this easily!

If he's complaining that superhero movies are "silly" but a failed astronaut hopeful and a scientist can fly an alien spacecraft, upload a virus dismantling an entire space armada to propel humanity to victory more believable then this guy is crazy as his Godzilla movie premise.

I doubt this so called NX will even be available next year.

@js734: Nintendo had a one year head start over the other two in terms of "next-gen" but severe lack of 3rd party support on launch followed by a lack of strong launch and successive post-launch titles failed to secure market. Seriously, were any of you guys happy waiting 5+ months for JUST for Pikmin?

If there is any truth about LoZ, it will scrap Wii U and debut on Nintendo's NX, then that would mean that Wii U would be the first Nintendo console to not debut an ORIGINAL LoZ game, what do you guys think about that...

You are correct in assuming missteps, but these were not done by Marketing, these were done by heads of Nintendo. BIG missteps, BIG decisions that steered Nintendo away from the masses. All Sony and Microsoft had to do at that point was do everything the opposite of Nintendo.

I am still hopeful of Nintendo's future. Wii U is not a successful system, but by no means is it a Virtual Boy. Nintendo needs to learn from its past mistakes.

This is eerily similar... too similar to just say "Never heard of the band... our is original". They were better off just admitting that the composer was a fan of PM5K, asked for their permission to sample, and pay the fee.

Now you have a potential lawsuit....(Satriani vs Coldplay anyone?) and bad press... Both sides will settle though.

@Tomcat2007 Don't be daft... if anything power down your console unless you want a decent sized electricity bill. I never put anything on Standby... Summer in CA with electricity bills is just expensive. This is a moot point however if you don't have to pay for your own bills.

@mumfaud No, discontinuing the system would probably do more damage to Nintendo than keeping it alive. They laid one egg once in the Virtual Boy decade or so ago.

Its only been ONE year since the release of the Wii U if there is any indication of past console life spans, Nintendo will probably write off this freshman year for the Wii U if they do the following: GAMES.

That is the only thing that will matter to gamers and general consumers, the games. Nintendo started with a decent launch and followed that up 6 months latter with virtually NOTHING.

Think what would have happened if after the launch, there was a new Zelda 2 months after that, a Metroid two months later, a Donkey Kong or a Kirby 2 months later as well... I doubt we would be having this article or ANY discussions on Wii U being a failure.

Unfortunately, all Nintendo got was Pikmin in June/July and nothing until Mario Wii U which was dwarfed by hesitancy of consumers since the PS4 and XBone were right around the corner.

This will not doom Nintendo, but it just means that the hole is that much deeper for them to climb up.

Sad, I actually had high hopes for the game.
