On my old, bad system I used Norton, which is definitively the most terrible commercial program ever invented. It gave me very tenuous protection and constantly bothered me with annoying messages that couldn't be turned off. And that was before my subscription expired  I finally decided to scrap Norton and go with the free Avira Antivir, which picked up 10 trojans and worms that Norton completely missed. I started using Avira on my main system, now my laptop, and it has caught everything that has come its way so far.bman784

awesome post, i went and dowloaded avira antivir because i dont like norton either, and wouldnt you know it after the scan it picked up 54 trojans and worms.

this happened a couple of days ago actually.

i turn on my comp. and as soon as the background comes up it says something about a virus or something, i didnt have time to read it because my comp. shut down. it wouldnt boot all the way up so i had to restore it and download everything over again that was on my comp. before.
