After considering alot this what i came up and not going to wait for core i5

CPU:E8400
GPU:Nvidia 250GTS (Does it consume less power compare to 9800GTX+)?Or it identical just a rename
RAM: DDR2 1066 2x2
MOBO:GIGABYTE P45-UD3R
PSU: Need help with
CASE: Need help with
MONITOR: Need help with

So basically I'm not going to overclock and would like a case suitable for this build and is quite and not sure which monitor to go with and playing at maybe 1440 resolution highest.

Was wondering if I only play at resolution of 1280 highest so, i was wondering 800$ for a core 2 duo would be good enough for me to last for around 5 years? Not really a high end user but gaming is priority and i don't OC so should i go with this or wait for i5 or any current available part i could get to build? if the build i'm going below is fine could you reckon me a monitor for that resolution.

CPU: E8400
GPU 9800GTX
RAM 4 2x2 DDR 2 1066
600 Watts
Black Caviar 500GB
Gigabyte P45 UD3R Mobo

The one i'mcomparing is the core 2 quad S series and the core i7 920 but if a whole build the core i7 920 would be much more expensive

I just notice that Core i7 920would be cheaper then the Q9400S if i compare the Q9400S build with the Core i7 920 which should i go? and how much difference in price? Or should I go with AMD Phenom II X4 or II X3? How much difference would i get between this 4 or i'm better off with a core 2 duo?
