I havn't been to any, so all I can really comment about is the coverage. The coverage was good and in depth, but I really missed hearing about some off the wall game from out of nowhere that was getting masses of crowds excited for it. There just wasn't any at this show, besides Little Big Planet which we already knew about.

I wonder if someone playing these games today for the first time would have as much fun as those who played it way back when.

Gotta love the 4 Gig ReadyBoost actually slowing down Oblivion.

Solidgearmetal, I was wondering how you would characterize the reliability of the Wii compared to the other two consoles. I can't imagine it being as reliable with the new controller technology implemented. Hope to be mistaken on this belief though.

Right now Sony is busy making alot of good business decisions to not lose too much money per console. Unfortunately, their decisions have been antithetical to their previous promises. Ultimately it will cost them some sales, both early on and overall, but I believe people who have been fans of the PS 1 and 2 will eventually pick up a PS3. Give them great games, and a great selection, and they will come (a big part of the Backwards Compatability advantage early on in a console's life). I'll be waiting for a price drop or three as I have for each of the previous generations. The problem for me, concerning backwards compatability, is that the PS2 is my brother's. When I finish up college and eventually move from the area, I may end up needing to buy my own PS2 to play some of my favorite games from the console. That adds to the total price-tag for me to buy a PS3 with limited compatability versus one with full compatability. Of course, if it supports Katamari I may not have many problems. As for games not aging well, and so being worthless to play on the new console, personally it seems that each new generation of consoles separates itself from the previous generation less and less, both graphically and gameplay-wize. The Wii is only a hair above its predecessors in graphics, while the gameplay for the 360 is certainly a tried-and-true style. Compare that to the differences between the NES, and the SNES or the Genesis. I don't think I need the latest and greatest versions to have alot of fun anymore.
