For the types of games Nintendo are great at the Wii U is gonna be plenty powerful. You do not have to have a monster system for Mario and Donkey Kong. They can make a gorgeous Zelda or Starfox with the Wii U. But knowing they wanna make it to where you can play agaist 3DS gamers in certain games and looking at Pikmin and the Mario game on the Wii U is kind of insulting. You can get better on PSN or XBLA for $10 and Nintendo will sell them for $60.
So I might get excited when they actually try to use the system like they can/should.
Also- When the new systems come out the 3rd party support will once again vanish. A problem Nintendo apparently has quit caring about.

[QUOTE="SPYDER0416"]Good post, I might add FEAR. The gunplay was fun in part thanks to the Replicas, when you shoot them, you can see their reaction to your bullets. That was a great post.I'd say linear level design, but it depends on the extent. While I love games that offer open ended levels and a variety of ways through a situation, like Crysis, Deus Ex and Hitman, I think other games like Half-Life, Call of Duty and Metal Gear have been able to give us more focused experiences that offer a certain degree of freedom or options past what gun I'm using. Worst case scenario would be Battlefield 3's single player campaign, I had almost no control half the time, no freedom, the game held my hand the whole way and instead of being able to put up smart barriers like every other shooter, they just went "nope you can't go here or its game over". Half-Life 2 was also a bit too linear for my tastes, at least in comparison to Half-life and similar titles like Bioshock, it was unfortunate that I didn't get to explore as much and they only had a couple of levels where you could really go out of your way to find cool stuff. The vehicle missions get hated on, but they gave me some decent options, though it was still following a single path they made me follow, it wasn't as bad as the shoehorned vehicle sections you see in other FPS games.
Bullet sponge enemies are second, because they are just annoying and I feel like they break the game. If I shoot a guy in his unprotected head in a game that is about intense battles and shooting dudes, he should not survive 10 headshots before going down. If he DOES survive headshots (like the enemies in Resident Evil 4 and some of the helmet wearing guys in Max Payne 3), he needs to feel the force of that bullet kicking his head backwards, not stand there and blow me away. Its extra, extra bad when my character can recoil in pain. considering how well done Max Payne 3 did shooting enemies (it is I would say the best game where you can put bullets through human like characters), its a shame that it kind of dilutes Gears of War or Uncharted when these heavily armored guys just don't flinch when I pump rounds into them. Hell, look at Call of Duty, that game has guys drop and stumble around if I shoot them, that is how they should react, and that's another thing celebrated games like Half-Life and Bioshock get wrong, when I put two shotgun shells into a Combine soldier, he should not freaking be standing and continue to blast away at me. Even if he is armored that shot should stumble him or take him off his knees or at least make him stop rushing and shooting me. It might sound sadistic, but I want to feel the enemy's pain, I want their injuries to impact their performance. RAGE and Condemned 2 are also games I can gush forever about, in RAGE shooting a person in an extremity has them grabbing it or tumbling over or occasionally after a lethal headshot, they continue to run a few mroe steps before plopping dead. If they don't die, they try crawling to safety or bandaging their wound, and its great and they should have to deal with these injuries if they didn't die from them. As for Condemned, its a game where I can see my punches break teeth away and my shots cause them to scream in pain and stumble.
Anyways,
1. Half-Life
2. DOOM
3. Bioshock
4. Star Wars: Battlefront

You can eat one if you know what I mean but I will explain anyways..... I made a mistake and bought a gaming laptop. Plus my wife is a big Nintendo fan. Since this gen is about over and the Wii is all but dead she wanted to sale her Wii while she could and her old DS Lite was stolen from her car. Anyway. we sold her Wii and got a 3DS and kept a few Wii games (See blog). I sold me Gaming PC and got bought a Gamestop gift card to get her a Wii U for Christmas. We have 2 laptops, a netbook, and a tablet in the house. Losing the gaming PC does not really bug me. Doing this makes it easier to pay off her car and my 4 wheeler.[QUOTE="deu5ka175"]
[QUOTE="Blabadon"] You have little faith in Nintendo so you sold your gaming PC and PS3 to get a Wii U and 3DS? Even with your usual stupidity that sounds dumb as hell.Blabadon
My life isn't all about me.
You have a family, are selfless, and still irrationally post while berating a console and company?
Oh joy......
I wouldn't doubt it being true. They have remade every other N64 game for handhelds.

I still have very little faith in Nintendo.....

Halo 4 looks like it might be the best one yet. It is easily the most ambitious. Since it is releasing so late in the console cycle I am not expecting it to score in the high 90's. But I am expecting it to keep the feel of Halo and it looks like it does. I think it will be at least a high 80's or low 90's on metacritc. I think the user scores will be mixed partly because people will not accept change mixed with a lot of PS3 fanboys scoring it low.
[QUOTE="tenaka2"][QUOTE="locopatho"]I thought Crysis 2 was an excellent game. I think PC gamers who call it "trash" and laugh at it being pirated are just vindicating Crytek's decision to put the sequel on consoles.locopatho
They lost money and had to sack people, they would have been vindicated if the game sold but people voted with their wallets.
And yet Crysis 3 is coming to consoles too. Seems like they were quite happy. Day 1 buy for me. Smart shooters (Shooters that is more that shoot reload repeat) are my favortie genre. Crysis, Deus Ex, Bioshock, the new Syndicate......"I will vote with my wallet."
