So you found it good enough to justify a second playthrough?

Nedemis

Owned. This guys lies are getting thinner and thinner.

The Twin Snakes, yes. MGS2 I simply did it with because I wanted to see how much actual game play there was in the game.

btw....my experiences with the franchise aren't lies and I find it hillarious that you'd label them as such. The series (as a whole) isn't that spectacular and I fail to see why it (and Kojima) get so much praise. It's right up there with GTA4 for me.

In your opinion. Some people hate the New York Yankees, doesn't mean their not one of the greatest baseball teams ever.

Some of the best games ever made can be beaten in under 3 hours.

[QUOTE="angry_fork"][QUOTE="Nedemis"] I beat MGS: The Twin Snakes in 2.5 hours (skipping the cut scenes and MGS2 in just over 4 without the cut scenes. Maybe I'm wrong for expecting more in my games where as you are satisfied with short games with obscenely long convoluted stories. Nedemis

Anybody can beat a game that fast when they rush through everything. Stop BS'ing, on a "normal" play through the medium time for MGS2 is 6-7 hours, if you take STEALTH gameplay seriously then it's 8-10. If you beat MGS2 in 4 hours you were rushing, which isn't how you play an MGS game.

Also how in the world would you know that MGS is convoluted if you skipped all the cutscenes?

1st play through with the cut scenes, 2nd without. Does the story get better on a difficulty higher then normal cause isn't that first and foremost the reason we play games such as that?

So you found it good enough to justify a second playthrough?

I been playing longer than that though, and I also play at work which is why I'm on all the time lol.

LOL. I actually think after 3 years he may be getting tired of it. I know he doesn't play like he used to.

I don't like the term "hardcore" either. I did a study on gamers and what they think the definitely of hardcore is and most of them said that it's the amount of time you invest in games. I would agree that if you invest a large amount of time in any hobby, that makes you pretty hardcore right? If you spend a lot of your waking hours doing one particular thing, wouldn't that make you pretty obsessed with it?

But then, you realize that there are plenty of people who play Tetris, Bejeweled and other so-called "casual" games for hundreds of hours, how is that any less "hardcore" than the ones who play shooters online? You're still putting in an enormous amount of time in something that you enjoy. I don't think its right to label people with this title because it's obvious that there are some who frown upon "casuals" and then others who roll their eyes at "hardcore." Can't we just all be fanboys... err gamers? ;)

Sophia

I don't think it's just the amount of time you invest, but the variety as well. Mix in different genres, a couple hours of RPGs here and there, couple hours of survival horror, couple hours of action/adventure, etc.

The only other franchise that comes close IMO is Resident Evil. Been a long time fan of both.
