[QUOTE="xhellcatx"] Good article about the success. :) bt_the_great_78I have to say, I find the disparity amusing, comparing the military newspapers, magazines, and professional journals, and our national newspapers. For the nation's papers, it's one of those cases where "if it bleeds, it leads." No one wants to hear about success. They couldn't care less about electricity being restored, schools being built, water and sewage being fixed (and often provided to homes which never had it prior to the invasion), soccer fields and pools being constructed, troops being trained, and deep friendships being formed by the Iraqi military and our own troops. These articles inundate military media. We have letters written by Iraqi men and women, soldiers and politicians, expressing thanks and gratitude. But, you rarely get this in the USA Today, The Post, The NY Times, or any other major paper, because people would rather hear about the car bombing or the IED that took out some troops to reconfirm their belief that nothing good can come of the situation, "let's take our money and run." There's a lot of time and care being invested in these people and their fledgling nation. Letting these random cowardly suicide bomb attacks and IEDs sway your opinion is just giving the insurgents and criminals what they want. someone dies to blow out electricity and another to have it restored i think this is a case where the media sends a clear message stop looking for excuses for stupidity
hopefully this fad will surface and have a severe backlash
because of course anything a screaming kid in black does is mocked
