It's a fantastic game but harder than Hell! It has some of the best melee combat mechanics I've ever seen. I would call it a spiritual hybrid of Dark Souls, Ninja Gaiden, Bushido Blade and Onimusha. It mixes elements from those games masterfully into something that is uniquely its own. I hope it gets a sequel and, with the next one, they abandon the mission structure and go for a fully open world like the Dark Souls games.

I wish Destiny haters would quit posting on every Destiny article. No one cares that you hate the game. The fact that you need to shout about it every time it's name comes up suggests more about you being a LOSER than it does about the game being bad. As a year one player, I do concede that the entirety of year one was a giant beta test at retail price. Fans were right to be pissed at the stingy vanilla release. The Dark Below was also a disappointment. The people who waited until year two got to play the real game.

But the game has steadily improved since then. I agree with about 90% of the changes they've made and think the game's in a very good place, now, although it desperately need integrated matchmaking for every activity. I just played Battlefield 1 and Battlefront recently and was dismayed at how overpowered other players were and how it dwarfed the importance of player skill. Destiny's Crucible actually requires you to be good, even if you've got the best gear. Even low powered players can compete in the Iron Banner and do well if they're good. I can't say the same about 'Call of Duty' where unskilled players can best skilled players by having a high level. You guys can troll me all you want. I've already established that I think the haters bunch of losers for thinking anything they say matters, so bring it on!!!

So it's like Skylanders? I'll pass. I play games. I don't buy toys.

I enjoyed Team Ninja's Metroid game despite its lame story and stupid ability unlocks. But I haven't loved any of their games since Tomonobu Itagaki left the company. That said, I've beaten every Soulsborne game and am glad that other developers are adding their own takes on this emerging subgenre of difficult combat RPG's.

It'll make me a little sad to play an 'Infamous' game in a world where Cole McGrath lies dead as evil reigns. I was kind of hoping that Cole would revive for one last adventure but I like where they're going with this new fire hero. I wonder if we'll see Zeke again. Is Cole really dead or could he return as an NPC?

This is the game that guarantees that I'll buy a PS4. 'Infamous' is one of my favorite games of this generation.

Wow, this actually sounds awesome. The Xenomorph vs. Marine mechanics of the multiplayer game sound like the spiritual successor to Splinter Cell multiplayer. If this game is as good as Pitchford makes it out to be then I'm buying it at launch. CAN'T WAIT FOR PROMETHEUS!!!!

"Has the 'Diablo' franchise stalled?"

What you mean like when a franchise disappears for twelve years and then returns? The content of the article is some fine game-porn copy to wet our appetites. But the title... Seriously?

Anyway, I wonder if Blizzard will add a Diablo themed expansion to WOW after Diablo III hits the market. Or a WOW themed expansion to Diablo. This is the first time we've ever seen a Diablo game in the post WOW world. It just seems inevitable that the two franchises will cross pollinate.

I hear there was a pretty major translation confusion in the explanation of Chrono Cross' villain. The main baddie was actually Lavos from the first game. But he'd upgraded and was now sucking the very fabric that makes up the timestream instead of just munching planets. Some of my Japanese speaking gamer friends tell me that this is completely lost in the English translation but it explains a lot about the game's story. That's why all the characters from Chrono Trigger were dead in Chrono Cross. They'd been wiped off the map by Lavos, who sent his assassin Lynx to take them down. But what he did was an anomaly. It wasn't supposed to happen that way. So when you free Schala and get the good ending you restore the timeline to what it was before Lavos' interference. The game doesn't show what happens next but it implies that Chrono and all the other characters will be restored and free to live their lives. This is what I've been told Since this article uses CC as an example of localization I figured I'd mention an often unmentioned issue with CC's translation.
