@@ecs33: I've never played the original, didn't even know one existed until the other day I watched a video on it...

The difficulty was why it never got released outside of Japan, which makes sense when you consider the player base on the NES were mostly still very young at that time, and maybe not up for the challenge...

The oddity of SM2 makes perfect sense when you realize it was another game that they just added Mario, Peach and Toad into... I have fond memories of it, looking forward to playing it again soon!

I'd be down to try the REAL SM2 though, hopefully Nintendo will put it in with the others (on the Switch)...

It's be weak if there were certain cosmetics that you can purchase ONLY with in game cash, as opposed to earned currency, but I'll wait and see before I have a Hissy...

They're meant to be used only for playing NES games, you can only play NES games on the Switch with a subscription...
