I think he's asking if there are any rivalries between PS3 exclusives.

I would say:

Resistance 2 vs Killzone 2

alright I've played through the game multiple times but I wanted to know if you can actually lead the rebel PMC to victory at the mansion in south America, or if they'll just keep fighting.

Yes you can, it is a bit difficult though.

I also want to knowif there's a way to get past the lastgekko in the market place w/o running up to it, then running away, letting it swing its leg and then you run past? cus to me it seems like a flaw in the game if that is is the only way to get past it.

Well, you can kill it...

The game has to support it, I know that Resistance 2 and LittleBigPlanet support it since I have them, but I don't know which other games do.

If people were paying close attention to why they removed it you would understand more. They removed it due to the morons posting on You Tube and other sites about how you can use Linux on your PS3 to rip your PS3 games to Hard Drives on your PC and make copies. Then loading Torrents and other Apps. to play them. Basically they killed the possiblityof pirating using Linux on the PS3. If people don't want to believe this then oh well, but it's the facts. Check on it and you'll see.

But there will still be millions of fat PS3's out there with Linux capability...

Make sure you buy the Complete Edition, not the regular one, since they are both the same price.

the game is not nice need for speed shift is better

Really? I found NFS Shift to be horrendous. The physics were terrible, it took too long to load a race, the engine noise was unrealistic, and the graphics were sub-par. I think both Grid and ProStreet are better than Shift to be honest. Also, the gameplay style for Shift and Midnight Club is different, you can't really compare them.

I didn't have a PS2 either, and also haven't played the first three. I played the first one on the PC (also available on the Playstation Store, also be sure to read the summaries of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 included with the game), and played about halfway through Metal Gear Solid 2 before giving in to the temptation of playing the fourth one. An alternative to playing all of the games would be to read their storyline online, that's what I did for the second and third games and still managed to understand the story.

[QUOTE="theshakester"]So . After much penny pinching and soul searching, I might just be getting myself a matte new PS3 Slim soon. I've been off the gaming scene for a couple of years (previously on PS2, earlier on PC but not very intensely). Given how tight the budget situation is, I dont see myself buying a whole bunch of games to start with. And so the point of this query : if you were to buy only 2 games with a new PS3, which would you buy? For general guidelines, I love a good racing game (but not F1 or rally) ; I like immersive games where I might or might not have to shoot up stuff (Myst is an all time nostalgic favourite) ; and I'm happy to get into a good, involved, well thought out shooter or adventure game. Names that I have been hearing bandied about (without much research as such) : Bioshock, Midnight Club, NFS Shift, Uncharted, MGS . . . I hope to see some suggestions guys, help much appreciated! Hmmm, can I get excited now?

For a racing game, I would definitely recommend GRID or Midnight Club LA: Complete Edition. NFS Shift wasn't too great, and GT5P would be pointless to get since GT5 is coming out in a few months. For the second game, if you want something with a good story line, I would recommend Metal Gear Solid 4, or Uncharted 2 (after renting the first one). If you choose to get MGS4, and haven't played the previous games, I would highly recommend you to play the first 3 first (on your ps2), since they contribute significantly to the story line of MGS4. Other honorable mentions are: LittleBigPlanet, MotorStorm Pacific Rift, Resistance 2, Dirt 2, and BioShock.
