Water cannons and some tear gas should do the trick...

Rubber bullets. Don't forget the rubber bullets.

I am glued to the broadcasts out of sheer disbelief. I suggest that the London police send their men to either South Korea or Spain to learn proper riot control tecniques. From my experience, the Spanish police do not hold back when it comes to rioters, and the rubber bullets start to fly at the slightest hint of violence.

Spanish riot police #1 & #2. As you can see, it doesn't take much to get them going.

EDIT: The protestors in the second video are delaying the start of a Barça game, so you can naturally understand why the cops are so angry.

EDIT#2: In the first video, the protestors are French, and a lot of Spanish cops would have issues with that. FYI, if you are thinking about leading a bunch of Frenchmen on a protest in Spain, I would advise against it.

The British would do a lot to redeem themselves in my eyes if they brought back the rack to deal with these rioting thugs.

There should be standing "shoot to kill" orders against looters in any riot situation.

In my part of the USA, a shop owner would be perfectly within his rights to spray looters with gunfire.

I love the Castle doctrine.

Lol wut? PS3 was beyond anything PC could do in 2006 and the 360 was as powerful as any 2005 GPU, of course consoles will always be on par with the PC...oh wait...

madsnakehhh

What about the PS2, PS1, Gamecube, Xbox, Wii, Nintendo 64, SuperNES, NES, Sega Master, Sega Genesis, etc etc? Where they as powerful as their contemporary gaming PC's?

But the thing with two screen is all about immersion and that's what graphics are supposed to do.

LOXO7

This is not true at all. Some of the most immersive games in history were entirely text-based rpgs. Star Saga 1 & 2 come to mind.

Also, I find classic novels such as Don Quijote de la Mancha or Lord of the Rings to be quite immersive, and they don't even have "graphics".

The sense of immersion is dependent on the audience's imagination.

Yeah this to, I don't mind having lasting hardware, but if the next-gen consoles are too weak then that would be disappointing. The Wii U is already two generations of GPUs behind, and if the 7XXX series drops this year that will be 3.

Since when are consoles supposed to keep up with PC GPUs? I have always assumed that consoles lag behind PC development because of the fact that they are closed platforms.

Hobos are going to hate it when money goes full digital, as I fully expect it to some day.

Can't you right click on the image, copy it, and upload it yourself so your other friends can see it?

Projected being the optimum word, easily translated to buggered if we know what the debt will be in 2022

EmpCom

I couldn't have put it better myself. Not single one of these projections has ever been accurate.
