The screen size left a little something to be desired when using with my PS3(blu-ray+games).accord100

I don't know about you, but using my 24" at my desk, it looks equivalent to about a 60" HDTV in my field of vision.

Oh, you have an old CRT with a VGA cable attached. Just go to Radioshack or something and get a female to female VGA adapter, it might also be called gender changer. You can then use it to attack the CRT's cable with the 360's vga cable.

I can't remember any specific free calibration images, but I know there are some out there. There are some links about calibration in one of the stickied threads. The AVS forums also has a pretty decent forum on calibration, and I'm pretty sure I've seen free images there.

1366x768 is the native. Most 720p HDTV's have that as the native resolution. 1366x768 is slightly above 720p, but most tv's do a good enough job of upscaling 720p a little so that it still looks great. 1360x768 would be the best setting with your VGA cable. (Yes, the 360 says it's 1360 instead of 1366).

It's just like how youtube doesn't allow you to download straight from their site onto your computer. You still have to find a third party addon to download the videos. So it's probably not legal like the guy above said.

You're looking for calibration dvd's or sets. Some are just DVD's or in a high definition format disc, and you follow the instructions on your screen and do the settings by eyeballing. Or you can spend a little more and buy a set that includes the dvd and also a calibrator that you attach to the screen, and it'll calibrate perfectly for you.

If the bass is distorting, it's probably the headphones. I've never had any problems with a variety of headphones, and I always turn my bass to max because I'm a bass player and want to hear the basslines.

Maybe the monitor is part of the package? The video card is definitely subpar. You're probably looking at a low end model or "business" model, so you can't choose a decent graphics card for it.

The 360? Use any computer capture card that takes composite video input (yellow RCA cable). Use the component+composite cables that come with the 360. Attach component to your TV and composite video to the capture card. Keep the resolution at standard definition and you can record and play at the same time.
