Really you might want to consider a 750w if you ever want to be able to get a new high end video card one day.Kurushio

And the usb devices is a modem/keyboard/mouse and some times a usb memory stick

[QUOTE="dmcguk"]

thanks for the suggestions so far :)

how much ram would I need for windows 64? or would 4gb be enough for 32 bit

markop2003

4gb is enough for 32bit but for i7s you should get it in 3 seperate modules so either 3gb for 32bit or 6gb for 64bit, personally i'ld suggest the 64bit option and then dual boot with XP 32bit or try and virtulise it for compatibility.

Ah ok thanks going to go with 6BG 2gbX3 then :)

Would this PSU with Antec 300 be a better selection ?:)

Also changed the cpu cooler so pretty underbudget now :)

I`ve been looking into building a rig for under £800 and this is what I got so far and was wondering if there is anything I should change that might not work well or could swap for a better part for sameish price.

Also would I have to use vista/xp 64 or would 32bit be fine with no difference.

cheers :)

Wow, I'm in the EXACT same situation as you.

I was leaning towards the 260, but now I'm not sure.

Is Crossfire as good as SLI?

urdead18
I have`nt seen any non bias reviews of them yet but looking at the 4890 performance I would guess it would perform slightly better with crossfire then sli but depends if your talking about the same 2 cards as me

get that 4890 its at 1000 core, that would be awesome!

chris24l

that`s what I thought but nvidia cards seem to perform better at games for some reason

edit after checking some reviews http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/video/display/mainstream-roundup-2_15.html#sect2 seems the 4890 is better :)

Well I do some work in 3D Studio Max and Photoshop and play games ;) but I was looking on Tom`s hardware review and the 260 seemed to come usually above a 4890 series card but not this exact one

We have also gotten information from a tipster that Battlefield 3 will be similar to Battlefield 2 and will support up to 40 players per team. There will also be 24 different vehicles that you can choose from and 17 different weapons. Like Battlefield 2, the game will also feature unlockable equipment.
