@Blazius2 @TheologicVs No, he's saying if you take the time to add a good multiplayer mechanic to your game that's as innovative as your singe player then you appealy to a much larger audience and more people will get to enjoy your game.

They use examples like Flower, Journey, and Heavy Rain and then continue to say that they are Playstation exclusive titles showing that this is just speculation, I guarantee if these games were multi-platform they would have sold more copies on the 360. I can appreciate a game for its art, but if the game sucks I'm not going to give it a second thought. Not that these games suck, they're all amazing, I'm saying a developer should be more focused on letting more people enjoy their game rather than focusing on who appreciates it more.

@ToTs_00 True, but you have to remember that gaming wasn't as popular as it is now and not to mention that now most of the revenue from video games back then probably went towards the technology in the cartridges where as now it probably goes to development and advertising so the needed to be expensive back then. This also is just what I assume but it makes sense.

Would be nice, i certainly would buy more new games if they weren't $60. I hope next gen games don't continue this $60 trend.

@himsaad714 It's really not as easy as you make it sound, to make games now a days it's a very major monetary investment and because the Call or Duty style shooter has such an established formula publishers (the people with the money) won't risk their money on something that isn't as established, just like the article says, and you saying that "Oh, just get the money by any means necessary and stop making excuses" is pretty unfair. I think it's sad that developers need to change what makes their games unique just to be able to be published. CoD has really screwed things up if you ask me.

@Rocker6 I hope you aren't saying that you think Black Ops 2 is the starting point for near futuristic shooters because Ghost Recon: Future Soldier comes out in 20 days and has been in development for almost 5 years. I don't think CoD is the trend setter you think it is. Not bashing or anything, just saying CoD isn't the be all end all of shooters.

5 episodes, 15 minutes a piece, sounds like we're getting that Halo movie after all.

It's disgusting what people will say when they get a little bit of anonymity, it makes me ashamed to be a part of this community of people.
