everyone starts with it because it's a great equalizer and a strong all around weapon(with the assault rifle) The rocket launcher was a quicker kill, the sniper had better range, shotgun did close range better. Pistol was the all around. Pistol/rifle/assault rifle did their roles respectively. The weapons if anything were balanced fine. It's like the BR in Halo 3(although not a starting weapon) being the best all around weapon and great equalizer but by no means being the only rifle needed to win. The other weapons all served a role and you would use a variety of weapons depending on your playstIe, the map, etc. so the little theory you have there is well flawed to hell and back.

the sniper had what? you could out snipe snipers across bloodgulch with the pistol

shotty is better at close range, rox at mid, and snipe at long. pistol is just better all-around. the pistol is why halo multiplayer got so huge. it's why thousands of people still play it a decade later.

that is exactly WHY it is unbalanced garbage

if everyone has it.....how can it be unbalanced? EVERYONE HAS IT. hard to cry about getting killed with it when you have it too..............

you so right! HOW COULD I BE SO WRONG!!!! its the game is the definiton of balance, its so balanced that everyone used weapons found on the map! it was so balanced everyone had to fight over the power weapons not spawn with the strongest gun in the game yep, so balanced that the sniper had the most range in the game, because of its scope every weapon was so useful!!! everyone used a variety of.... oh wait...
