Wii, Fun for the whole family.

So I got to play the Wii this past weekend at the Nintendo Wii Event at Highpoint, and i managed to get some photos.
I had a Blast playing Zelda, and was honestly blown away at how fun Excite Truck and Tennis and Bowling, and all the other games on display. Graphically, they all looked fine to me, as it was what I was expecting, Nothing Gears of War standard, but still beautiful.
Without further ado, here come the images.

A guy playing Excite Truck.

Excite Truck closer up.

Kids playing Wii Sports Tennis.

Teens Playing Wii Sports Tennis, boyfriend/girlfriend, brother/sister? Don't know, sorry, didn't get to ask.

The Wii in all its compact glory.

My ugly mug playing Zelda.

Aiming the Wiimote to aim the Bow in Zelda.

Wiimote and Nunchuck.

Zelda.

More Zelda.

Geez more Zelda.

Ok, One more Zelda.

Shhh, this isn't another Zelda, what are you talking about?

The Wii was fairly simple to get into, I had no trouble moving Link around with the Wiimote/Nunchuck. Zelda played fantasic, you wave the Wiimote around to attack, which makes the game that much more fun. Wave the Nunchuck to do Zeldas Spin attack.
I had one issue with Zelda's control, and that was the aiming. There didn't seem to be a Z-Lock for Bow and Arrows or the Boomerang, and manual aiming was quite difficult as the cursor didn't exactly more where I pointed, it was a bit finicky. But I do have to say, I believe that was the result of the female who set up the console, she was much shorter than me, and I will fault that to our height differences.

Excite Truck played great, the Wiimote (on side) seemed natural, crash sequences were really cool, and you got a extra boost when you did crash (A repeatedly for about 5 or so seconds)

Unfortunatly I did not get to try out Wii Sports, but that looked like it was some good fun for multiplay.

Warning - This post contains stars..............and Wolfmother.

So my GF signs up to one site, she doesn't remember which, but it got her and myself tickets to the exclusive Wolfmother show at Live at the Vodafone Chapel.
We got to meet and greet Wolfmother with 4 other people, I mean what are the ****ing chances of that?

The gig kicked serious ass, Wolfmother delivered and much more. It was definatly an experience, one never to be forgotten.

Some of you may know Hamish and Andy, well we got to meet them as well, and it was shocking at how tall Hamish is. Honestly, hes over 6" tall. Oh and I do believe i spotted local soap Neighbours star, Eliza Taylor-Cotter. Which was pretty uneventful as she just walked past me, then I thought to myself, "Hang on, I've seen you somewhere before. Ok, i'll Google when I get home". And Google I did.

Pictures of my pass, setlist and signed Wolfmother CD booklet  to come tomorrow or the day after. Actually, whenever I get around to it.

Battlefield 2142

So, i overlooked the fact that there is active "spyware" on BF2142 and went out and bought it.
First impressions. Great game, fun to play, spyware not even noticable, nor are the ads. And so far, more mature people, when compared to CS:S.
After awhile, there are a few nagging issues, and a few smaller ones. Big ones being the game seems to like to freeze my system alot, although freeing up more space on C: seemed to clear that up. And the fact that it loves to spaz out my wireless connection and thus leading to a disconnect in the middle of a game.
Smaller issues are that at the moment, stats aren't updating live, so cross your fingers if you get that pin or medal. When the Titans move, alot of things don't like to "stick" to it. Which causes minor frustration.
Voice chat is almost required when you get into sqauds, from what i've played only 2 squads used the voice chat feature, and we did really well. The other squads i've been in, don't feel like squads. People go about their own buisness, and most of the time we lose.

I think the game needs some work, but all in all, its a fantastic game that i'm loving. If anyone wants to play some. Let me know and we can hook up in one of our local Internode or whatnot server.

Black DSLite

So, my girlfriend got me a Nintendo DS Lite (black) for Christmas. But me being the nosey bastard found it in the, not so hidden, hiding place.

Unfortunatly i went and got myself Lunar: Genesis. Which is oddly enough, name changed from its US counterpart. The game is decent but many of the games fun factor is shot in the knee by alot of flaws.
I have been enjoying my DS though, got out some older GBA games like Golden Sun and FFTA and gave them a whirl again, (sadly it reminded me how bad FFTA actually was).

Awaiting FF3 and a few of the anticipated upcoming new DS RPGs. I need to go out and get that Mario & Luigi game for it though, and maybe get that Yoshi one as well.
