Our general rule of thumb is that if a game has a substantial online component, we will usually post a review-in-progress in order to observe how that stuff performs when the game is actually available to the public, usually during the week of launch. A lot of games can have poor matchmaking experiences, for example, or suffer major server failure when the floodgates open.
In MK11's case, they were quick enough to deploy multiple patches during this launch week. If they had taken any longer, my original sentiments would have remained.
@ChrisAnetkaC: @art_vandelay7 For what it's worth, I played through the majority of this thing solo for the review. It's challenging, but definitely doable.
@silv3rst0rm: @Drake213 We now have both a very short video review, which is the one you're talking about, as well as a very, very long video review, which involves talking to the reviewer (me) in a lengthier, more casual discussion about the game.
The review took 10 days because we got access to the game at the same time everyone else did, and I wanted to make sure I saw absolutely everything from beginning to the very end of endgame. Thanks for reading/watching!
Hello! I wrote this. If you have any specific questions about The Division 2 which you'd like me to address in our review discussion video (which will probably come sometime next week), feel free to leave them here!
