Obviously he liked video games better than his fiancee, or else he would've toned it down a bit. If he really loved her he wouldn't have done it, or he's such a massive narcissist that he did it regardless. I have no sympathy for him if he's upset.
I agree with the video and also think that there's nothing particularly spectacular gameplay-wise. I could overlook a lot if the shooting mechanics or driving mechanics were amazing, and they're just not. The driving is just average to slightly enjoyable at best, depending on the car, and the shooting feels very light. Guns don't feel heavy the way the trailers made it seem like they would.
And GTA was just more interesting. All of them are extremely funny games and they satirize our real world. Watch Dogs seemed to want to do more, but at the point I'm up to in the story it falls rather flat.
I'd rather have just had Aiden be a member of a group of hackers rather than have his own personal revenge story. I'm more interested in what the government is doing. I would've liked if his personal life was more a mystery until towards the end.
Everything about the game feels disjointed. I enjoy it enough to keep playing but I'm certainly not going to play this as long as I'd hoped I would.
@ringringabel this is the most expensive game Ubisoft ever made. the funding was there. and they themselves are responsible for the overhype. I like the game, but it's not in the same realm as GTA V and it's entirely their doing.
I'm really annoyed at this game. It made me buy my console (based on the 2nd, video released, not the blatant lie that was the movie-cinematic quality thing that even PC won't run), and now the only reason I'm getting it is because there's almost nothing else to do on PS4.
PC will run the game the way it was advertised as running on PS4 in the 2013 video. PS4 runs the game like its PS3. great
It's not just the looks of the game, but the way the game portrays movement. The way he opens/closes car doors, for example. Mafia 2 actually did that amazingly well. This made that movement ridiculously fast. It takes a nose dive in the uncanny valley. The way he runs, also, his body basically remains stagnant as his arms and legs move. The movement seems a bit slippery when running.
And the driving looks like the driving from Tony Hawk Underground.
I'm not quite sure how it's possible that the PS4 and Xbox One got made with such poor hardware as they were. I'd have paid $500 for a stronger PS4. Mass production is supposed to benefit the consumers more than it has thus far, by a lot. Xbox made a $100 initial cost of theirs for a camera system which they might as well admit right now doesn't work as well as they needed it to. And PS4 runs marginally better but in negligible amounts.
I hope this console cycle is over quickly, in maybe 4-6 years, so we can get something akin to the jump that PS3 made over PS2 and 360 made over original Xbox with the new ones. The difference between Gears of War and anything on PS2 or Xbox was immediately evident. I'm rather disappointed so far.
The devs will need to crank out some excellent software to make up for this lapse.
I just don't understand why the game had to come out like this. I heard this company has a small staff. They themselves are saying one of the main appeals is that they're one of the first games on new consoles. It doesn't need to reinvent the wheel. i was hoping this would sort of relive that original Witcher type experience where the game is rough around the edges but still great.
Why not just hire more people to make it good, charge a full $60 instead of just a now too expensive $50, and make a good game so we can all have a good time? Hire some actual writers to revise dialog and story logic and perhaps make companions a bit more likable. I don't like when games are bad, it's just a waste. I was really hoping this would be good, too, since there's so little on PS4 right now if you aren't into Infamous.
This is a bad review. It reads like a 9, with its generic praise, yet gives only a 7 for criticisms that are hardly explained or noteworthy. I don't accept the idea that the criticisms you point to are worthy of the points you take away from the game.
This is more like a Wikipedia page that would be complained about for too much subjectivity versus an actual review or critical assessment of something. I don't see anything on here that I couldn't have gotten from reading developer previews, which basically defeats the purpose (particularly when the score afterwards seems to have been chosen out of a hat).
