It isn't about making games for Kinect now. With this generation it's about implementing Kinect integration into all (or most) of the mainstream games like Forza 5, Quantum Break, The Witcher 3, and future instalments of Mass Effect, Splinter Cell, COD, and so forth. This can come in the form of voice commands, head tracking with Forza, and Kinect can also track when users switch controllers.
I'm certainly not saying this is worth the extra $100, just pointing out how the focus has shifted in how Kinect is used, not as a standalone peripheral but as an integrated part of the core gaming experience.

If games aren't made purely with the Kinect in mind, then all the Kinect features are shoe-horned in and contribute nothing to the game experience. Xbox One's a huge failure and its fans aren't very smart for not figuring this out. Notice none of the launch games coming out have nothing of substance contributed by the Kinect?
it's not just a gaming device. you guys need to realize and accept this.
