I don't feel his post was dumb.. A lot of people liked the Halo 2 SP. Again, you are really missing the point of what the guy was trying to say. HALO IS ALL ABOUT LIVE MULTI PLAYER WITH A FEW OF YOUR FRIENDS. The Single player will only last so long. The live multi player is what is going to carry the game for years to come.

Scott its a shame. You have so bought into the hype and marketing that you think halo 3 is supposed to be something out of this world good. Playing through it with my friends at the shop we run here in NJ, I can tell you that its just a shinier Halo 2. BTW, editing where weapons and items spawn in stages is hardly a level editor. The game is an above average run and gun single player campaign which is rather short lived. If it wasn't for the addictive yet old (its a beefed up Halo 2 MP, the jump in H3 MP and H2 MP is no where near as big as the jump from the original to H2), this game would just be a 7. However, i will give the game and 8.45 out of 10. It is not a bad score by any means.

Mind you, this is MY opinion and view on the game. Me as a gamer. I'm not a reviewer, so my opinion doesn't really count I guess. But I think this is the general concensus that i'm receiving when I talk to and read the impressions that other gamers have had while playing. And yes, you can absolutely review a game based entirely on single player, its the mode that is the most accessible and the first one the MAJORITY of gamers will play through a game before going into the toehr modes. Its the core package of the game. there are examples of games which are built up, advertised, and sold as multiplayer focused games. However, this is not one of them. At least not entirely. If you are going to market Halo 3 as an incredible single player and multiplayer experience, that is how I will base my opinion. And as of right now my opinion is the single player is nothing special and poorly written. The multiplayer is the games only redeeming quality. IMHO Call of Duty 4:Modern Warefare is a much better hands down experience.

Truth be told, had Halo 3 shipped without a multiplayer at all, I would have felt it deserved an 8. However, once again, this is my opinion and it's hardly my fault you are defending the Master Chief, as if he was your own mother.

I am pretty much done with you dude.. But one last thing I lost all respect for you when you say the "game holds very little value" Bungie cramed soooo much into this game. It is prob. the best multi player value out there right now. We just are on two totally different pages. To each his own. Play me one on one and if you beat me then I will hold your opinion for real. I think both games are AWESOME.. bioshock had an amazing and unique storyline and the graphics and gameplay were OUTSTANDING .. while halo has i think a legend behind its storyline. since the begining of the game we wanted to see how it ended and master chief as another hero of the video game era joining samus and snake its awesome. i think it will get a 9.7 or 9.8,,zeroproyect

ive played online and its the same thing as the other 2. basically, other than a few gameplay elements and amazingly good graphics...halo3 is the same.

You know what though, that is fine with me. I would not expect Bungie to make a whole new type of game play. A lot of people like me who are really into Halo 2 and play competitive, and practice every day, have come to expect a certain "feel" from the game play. I am happy they didn't change the game play too much. I loved the way it was in Halo 2. All the little stuff that was annoying about Halo 2, it seems they worked on and improved for Halo 3. I am excited to check out all the awesome new maps, weapons, vehicles and other great stuff.

Keep your diapers on fella. I edited my post to elaborate on why I think an 8.5 makes sense. Regardless, no reason to get worked up over my opinion on the game. On the flip side, I find it hilariously amusing that some of you are so in love with Halo, to the point that you take it personally. To me this is totally SILLY. How can you rate a game like Halo on just the single player. Halo is all about the insane, awesome live multi player! Untill you play live with a bunch of your friends in some crazy heart pounding matchmaking, then don't give a half a** review. I loved Halo 2. I still play it live with a lot of my friends. I played the Halo 3 Beta and I thought it was amazing! The Beta was a spit in the bucket. A lot of people don't realize this. The final game is going to be jammed packed full of awesome stuff. So again, untill you check out matchmaking, Forge, custom game and co-op, don't tell me the game is an 8.5
