@Barighm: there's no way they could be made the Thrawn trilogy. It's 30 years too late. And the fact that the Star Wars actors are dying in real life shows that the direction they're taking is the right one. Hell, the fact that the new trilogy has the original actors I them AT ALL instead of just talking about them in the past tense is a gift. There was a 30+ year gap between the movies, they can't just pick up right after Jedi.
The EU was a mess. It needed a Story Group Division because the thing was full of contradictions and, frankly, some stupid writing. If someone at Lucasfilm had overseen it better from the start, then they could've kept it in line and maybe kept the EU intact for the nee trilogy.
@greaseman: man, you people think they're gonna slam Mickey into every show. Disney is a PARENT COMPANY. There's Disney studios, marvel studios, touchtone studios, ABC, etc etc etc. There have been TONS of content put out by studios owned by the Disney parent company that are adult oriented, rated R, etc etc. Calm down.
@TrueLink: we'll it's approved now. And it's not like they have to show the mutants or anything. Hell, an end credits scene with a blood test coming back "abnormal" and then a hospital window frosting over would be good.
@esqueejy: exactly. One of the best parts of star wars is the only exposition you ever get is the opening text crawl. Other than that, you're just supposed to KNOW about the rebellion, the Empire, and that Jedi USED to be prominent but are now all but forgotten. People take for granted that they know all these things now, but when it was first released, there was zero knowledge of the backstroke of the original trilogy.
