I donated $300 a couple of days ago through the company I work for.

so recently i had trouble booting into my laptop (as in, wouldn't boot at all). i had around 4gb of documents that i COULD NOT lose, so i booted up an ubuntu live cd, copied all these files into a flash drive, and then reinstalled windows.

now, when i copied all the files back to my documents, two of the most important documents (ones i edit every day, my bank records) had reverted about 3 months. i desperately need to recover them. is there any way to do this?
