Like, that is lmao. I could buy a 2x better PC for 1/2 price. namby_trojan
You couldn't buy a cheaper AND colder PC, though. The combination of thermoelectric cooling and liquid cooling Dell has implemented is extremely effective.

I am looking to make a Core 2 Duo rig soon. I have checked resellerratings.com for CyberPower, and in the past 6 months it's gotten an 8.6/10, so I'll probably buy from them.

What I want to know is how easy would it be overclock a Core 2 Duo e6320 (as I'll buy the PC after the e6320's are released) from its stock 1.83 Ghz to around 2.4 Ghz, the equivalent of an e6600, or even above. At least to e6600 levels. I am wondering this because I could save ~US$140 by choosing an e6320 instead.

Also, CyberPower recommends Monsoon II Lite CLT-M2LI CPU air conditioner system for CPU overclocking. Should I choose this option, or should I opt for their liquid cooling option (CoolerMaster Liquid CPU cooling fan system kit)?

Finally, what are the benefits of a 680i motherboard over a 650i? Could I overclock an e6320 to 2.4Ghz with a 650i, or is it necessary to have a 680i. I ask this, again, because I could save around US$120 by choosing the 650i.

Cyberpower has mixed reviews. So say everything came fine, others say that they even received wrong components. So it's a luck thing. They are dirt cheap, though. With prices like that I wouldn't be surprised if they only made a few dollars profit per PC. Velocity Micro is an excellent choice, but don't even THINK of getting a DX 10 setup for around US$ dollars, then you're dreaming. The card itself will be around 1/6 to 1/3 of the price, depending on the one you want. The processor options are reduced due to price constraints, and you'll end up buying one that bottlenecks your card. RAM won't be so good, and neither will memory. I won't even begin with the monitor. I'm looking to buy one myself from Velocity Micro, it's around US$2,000, because I don't trust Cyberpower. I might hold out until prices on the 8800 gts 640 drop, so i can snatch that instead of a 7950 GTS 512 card, as id have to switch the mobo as well later when it comes to upgrading itme.

I'd rather have it delayed and be mind-blowing than be rushed and be lackluster in quality.

I've come to the PC via two Sinclair Spectrums and then two Commodore Amigas... that's 8 bit and then 16 bit computers.

I got my first PC in 1999 = a 350Mhz pentium 2 with 64mb of RAM, a 8gb hard drive and a 8mb GPU.

I asked the shop assistant about the amount of memory on the GPU and he starts stating that in the future there'd be 64mb GPUs = my response was "wow, thats unbelievable!!!"

I guess what I've gleaned from this debate is that GPU speed is (obviously) extremely important along with memory size = it's not just the amount of memory you have...

Will the quality of graphics plateau? They can only get so good? Photo/video quality graphics? As good as the real thing?

I remember when I upgraded my PC's graphics from 8 Mb to 64 Mb because Warcraft III played with horrible framerates with the 8 Mb card. When I played it with 64, I felt like a king.

[QUOTE="DirkVDV01"][QUOTE="muppet1010"][QUOTE="Miguel16"]nope it'll never get that goodmuppet1010
I remember something about the presedent of IBM said that there would never be a need for more than a few hundred computers in the world(deciphering attack plans and other military stuff) AHHAHHA could he have been more wrong? well at the moment the trend seems to be faster and more powerful but we have hit certain limitations in technology. The current architecture of cpu cores limits them to around the 3-4 ghz mark which is why we are now seeing dual and quad core processors(if we cant make it faster we make more of them :)) But Im fairly confindent that we will see a 'revolution' at some point down the line and will enable much faster cores.

You have to place that quote in it's context, back then it was reasonable to say that, just like MS said in the beginning of their PC era that "640Kb ought to be enough for everybody". It was true to say that back then, not anymore today. Times have changed, the world went on. The Dark Tower was far away, over the viewing distance, only indicated by dark clouds and lightning and a distant sound of thunder, like rolling bones over stones.

I Think that its wrong to rule out stuff like this... i mean what if something comes out that is truely 3 dimensional.... kind of like holo-coms in starwars...... I believe that something like that would need a lot of ram in order to buffer something like a video....... sure im happy to go along with 'we'll never need more than 2gb of ram' if you apply that to present day monitors and screens which or only 2d in truth. You CANT say what will and wont happen and be sure about it. For example 150 years ago the greatest minds thought it was impossible to travel at a speed in excess of 100mph.... try telling them we can send rockets into space at 1000's of mph. Do you see where Im going with this??

Do you see where he was going with it in the first place? It all depends on the time. Back in those days, it WAS impossible to travel at speeds in excess of 100mph. Now it isn't. It's like saying that we would never need another source of energy because fire was discovered.

I myself have a Diamondback and it's been great for around a year now. So I recomment a Razer. What I like about Razer is that they make a simple mouse that gets the job done. Nothing over the top. And very practical if you are left handed.

Antec P180 is my recommendation. Has a professional look, nice cover, and can go as low as US$105, maybe as high as US$125.

I always root for the underdog, so here's to hoping they are both cheaper and better than intel's.
